Hello
I was wondering if I can get some tips on whatever is necessary for preventive maintenance of a fi car?
I own a 2003 Z06 with some mods including STS turbos.
I am just curious what people do in addition to regularly things like oil changes & lubrication.
The car runs great but I haven't really push it because of the fact that I still have the stock brakes(plus hawk pads). Now the car is sitting in my garage.
MY MAIN QUESTION IS IF ANYBODY HAD, IE: BLOW A MOTOR , TRANS, OR WHATEVER ELSE, DO THEY WISH THEY WOULD OF CHECKED SOMETHING OR ANYTHING B-4 HAND?

I know this is a broad question but any answer might help.

I did try searching the site but didn't have much luck-Thanks again

absolutely get the car dynoed and tuned to verify that everything is setup properly. if the turbo cars lean out bad things can happen quickly.

that's the best preventative maint. also run a high quality synthetic oil

mobil 1, amsoil, royal purple, or others. the synthetic oils tolerate the higher oil temps and help the turbo bearings live.

on the sts, make sure the scavenge pumps are working properly or to can blow the oil seals.

good luck with the car.

Default sc also

Thanks for your reply.

How about after the car is already tuned , & I'm also interested in sc cars, If the car is running well does anyone re-check the tune or put it on the dyno say once a year to make sure everything is still in order?

Let's say after it's stored for the winter, any thoughts?

you shouldn't have to retune or redyno once it's setup right unless you make major changes. the injectors sometimes don't like to sit for long periods so start her up and make sure you don't let the gas sit for much over 3 months.
