Default Hardened axle source?

I called DTE to pick up their hardened LH output shaft and was told that they only sell it as part of their complete differentials. Looking around I see LAPD also sells them. Does anyone have any experience with those? Are there any other sources for the shafts?

Sorry we couldn't sell one out-right at the moment, as very high purity 300M alloy steel is very difficult to come by and we only make 2 huge material purchases per year.

We purchase high quality 300M alloy steel from the very same foundry that supplies military contract aircraft manufacturers such as Lockheed-Martin, Northrop-Grumman, General Dynamics, etc. and with the Middle East issue going on, those aerospace companies get the lions share of the material before we do. Hence, we have to watch how many of these we sell out the door so we don't short-change ourselves for our differential builds.

Thanks guys, that gives me a couple of options to check out. If I got paid by the hour for all of the time I've spent on the computer chasing down parts lately I could finance my inatall. Still having fun!

OK so Here is where I'm at with the hardened shafts.
DTE: won't sell them separately.
Scoggin Dickey: didn't list them
ECS: out of stock
Xtreme: out of stock:
ATI: sold out
Lingenfelter: didn't respond to my email
LAPD: out of stock
Rpm: out of stock
Are there any other ideas?
Boost master, I might have to take you up on your offer. PM me with the details if it is still for sale.

Try Cajundude. He may have them.

I ordered DTE output shafts from a different CF vendor (not Cajundude). Turns out they were Lingenfelter, not DTE. Too bad there is not a vendor feedback section.

I think both DTE and LPE us the same material though.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I went to the AZPS site and clicked on corvette 97-04 c5 and got "there are currently no products in this range"
On SDPC I clicked on the differential and saw no listing. There were Mopar sections, Ford sections, carriers etc. but no shafts.
