2. how hard is install is this diy or do i need to have a shop do it, I know car will need a tune. just trying to see what total set up will cost me. does this sound like a fair deal or am i better waiting untill i have the $$$$ for a new kit installed

There are many that have done the install themselves. I think the hardest part is pinning the crank and aligning the belt properly. If you are comfortable with removing parts off your vette, then I say do it, get as far as you can, then have a shop finish off the hard stuff.

If you are not comfortable removing parts, then sub it out.

Just be sure to do some due diligence on shop selection if you decide to sub it out. I was assured by a local shop that they had installed many ProChargers and my install would be a piece of cake.

It turned out they couldn't align a belt to save their life.

I just installed a stage II procharger pretty easy, pinnig the crank& putting 140 deg was the worst of it .The stage II is sweet .But the stage I kits had a lot! of problems. Save your $ and go with the newer kit.

That i've heard of belt slippage & belt alignment . nothing that a good installer can't get working right. i had mine for 3 years and with the katech tensioner & the lil ol laser alignment tool & did 550 rwhp all day every day with 0 problems till recently that i decided to upgrade .
