Default Tweaks to my setup

My setup had been running higher oil temps than I wanted. 245-255 in slightly spirited canyon driving, 225-240 on the frwy. These temps aren't all that bad, but they bothered me.
First I added a Mocal oil cooler and spal fan in the driver side fender well. This helped, as long as was just cruising. It stopped the slow but steady heat build up. Oil temps would hold at 220-225. If I started having a little fun, the temps would climb, to 235-240.
Then I had A&A upgrade to their new intercooler, radiator, metal schroud and ducting setup. I also had them install a RPM mn6 and a Textralia clutch( my old one began letting go in 3rd). After the install, Charlie had the car on the dyno for tuning and it ran out of fuel, so we then put in a secondary fuel system as well.
Today the car got its final tune and I had a chance to drive it 60 miles or so. It seems as though my high oil temps are a thing of the past. A&A's new setup really did the trick. Though it was cool out today mid 60's, my oil temps never got over 192 and coolant never got over 189. I suspect this summer the oil temps will be more like normal 210-220.
Today's dyno run yielded 723rwhp and 700rwtq at 13 degrees timing. Charlie told me with meth and 18 degrees I'd pickup another 80 ponies or so. I had them leave it where is was, because more power means more heat, and traction is hard enough to find as it is.

PS I went with the RPM mn6 because I'm a frwy cruiser much of the time, and the taller gears are more frwy friendly( less heat with lower rpms). Hopelfully the taller gearing will help me find traction a little easier too.

More power only means more heat when you're at WOT. But glad to hear you got your issue fixed.

Odd that your temps are so high though -- I know I "only" have a 346 but I do have a pair of turbos near my oil pan and with my oil cooler (no fan, and not in a location that receives direct air) my temps are aroudn 200-210. 220 if I really romp on it. On the freeway they are closer to 180-190 (low rpm driving).

What compression ratio are you running and how much boost?

Diynoob- running 9.5 C/R, and 8 lbs boost

Nick- I read the posts about your heat issues. Feels good to have them resolved doesn't it?

Pakisho- Thanks for the headsup about the get together. I'm working in the am and will be at Fontana in the PM to do some Go-Karting. I gotta start checking out the SoCal events section more often.

I have heard good stuff about the Dewitts rad. What exactly did you do to the shroud for the improvement? Any links? Thanks, Mark
