Default Pissed off !!!

I tracked my package for my new Precision Turbo. Tracking stated it was left at the front door yesterday. I was home all day...in the garage..no delivery. Precision Turbo didnt insure it...just the 100.00 standard. Fedex said I am entitled to 100.00. Turbo is 2500.00 plus my special fittings , coated exhaust housing, polished compressor side.

The Fedex delivery person stated he has never left a package at the wrong address....when questioned...he also stated he may have left it in the garage....but couldnt remember......sounds like BS..

Few days earlier a Fedex guy came into my garage and complimented me on my Vette and the Twin turbo package.....

I am very suspicious about this whole thing......I have had a million packages left at my door.......I live in an upscale gated community with 1/2 million dollar and up homes.

I was told the Fed ex delivery person will be at my house to confirm where he left it.......its now 4:00pm....he was supposed to be here by 2:00.....

Fedex....just tells me to "be patient" they are working on it.......BS BS BS

Bottom line....I may get screwed....

That sucks.

I ALWAYS ask that the product be insured for the purchase price. Heck, the extra insurance probably would have only been $10. Hope by some miracle it appears.

hang in man...maybe it will show up somehow. What would anyone want with your stuff, unless they knew what it was and had a use for it.

Hopefully just a case of some idiot not paying attention or whatever and it'll turn up soon.

Take a deep breath and maybe walk away from the project for a bit....relax , family time, etc.

I also make sure that important stuff is insured for its value, including pain and suffering as is the case with specialty items. The shipper should be held resonsible, unless you clearly asked for it not to be insured fro its proper value.

Keep us posted as to the outcome

Hi Tom....I know what your feeling right now...I ordered a stage 2 brake kit and FedEx lost it. Its late July and I order it in March...still waiting for them to refund me.
They also lost my P1SC head but they found it a month later in their warehouse.

Hope things work out for you...I've read many articles about FedEx and their miss drops to the wrong address.

Whoever sent it is responsible. PIA though that you have to put getting it back on off.

Good luck on getting the unit or a replacement sooner versus later.

here is an update. Got a call from the Fedex local supervisor who talked to the delivery guy. He said that he left it at the door in a bag. He even gave directions to the supervisor where my house was.....which doesnt mean he actually left it.....so they are "cleaning there hands" and stating that they did their part and delivered it.

It basically comes down to my word against the Fedex delivery persons word...

The funny thing: initially he was not sure if he left it by the door or in the garage..........now he is clear that he put it in a bag and left it at the door....

As far as the shipper being responsible....the turbo was being returned after I sent it back to them for a problem that was overlooked during Precisions assembly.......I did not pay the return shipping....they paid the shipping because the problem was thier fault. I was never asked about shipping, insurance, or signature required......I would think it is 100% their responsibility to insure the item...

Any laywers in here that can help me with this matter......what can I do..............

The turbo wont "just show up" it was "not lost" they are claiming it was delivered......they told me today that I need to start the claim process..............sorry I am not settling for $100.00......this was not my fault at all........I am not going to take the fall...........I think the Delivery person stole the item...

Help please

I'm a frequent shipper of high-value items. In my opinion, if the shipper didn't require a signature on delivery, they failed to use "due diligence" and should be responsible for the loss. Or at the very least, it's between them and FedX.
Giving a FedX permission to just drop something of high value in front of the house and (maybe) ring the doorbell seems rather negligent, given all the possible failure scenarios.

Im not a Lawyer , but if you paid for it on Creditcard .. all you have to do is dispute it.. if there is no SIGNUATURE CONFIRAMTION -Then the CC company will refund you.You might be able to claim it on your home owners insurance as it was stolen from your property.

It sounds like the shipping company dropped the ball when shipping a high dollar item.

If worst comes to worst, I would dispute it on the credit card, but you only have 90 days(?) from the receipt of the bill.

why the hell would percison insure a 2500 turbo for only 100!!!
Negligence on their part big time! high dollar item ALWAYS needs signiture. sounds to me like the driver knew it was a turbo and was also delighted to see that no sig was needed!

SORRY TOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about the theft because that's what it likely is. I suggest getting on turbo companies a$$, because they probably need some time to put new turbos together.

Also as mentioned above it's on them not you.

This kind of stuff happens more then you think irregardless of your location. Actually idiots tend to favor better neighborhoods and pick on them more so.

Good luck,
Mike

These shipping companies are a joke. I had UPS one time drop off a Kenne Bell that I had bought at a neighbors house (umm hello check the damn address) but yeah I got lucky my neighbor brought it over. Another time a buddy of mine had just moved out of his house and they left a package outside his house, where they dropped it off by the front door their is as huge window and you could clearly see that the house was empty. Why didnt they just take it back and send him a notice or return it to the shipper, he ended up not getting anything out of it.

But IMO I would fight FedEx. I believe they are supposed to have your permission to leave it at the front door.

I don't understand the bag thing. What bag would they put it in? I agree that it should have been insured for replacement value.

Good luck.
