I called RPM about that, they told me no synthetics. They didn't real recommend a brand, just Dextron III.

I just returned from RPM the other day and they told me the same thing. I watched as they put Dextron III in my trans.

I put Royal purple in mine.
Should I change it. That's some expensive ATF to throw away.

Hehehe.........this is a Rossler Stage III, no problem
It took over 10K hard road race/autox/street miles and 250+ 1/4 mile passes to blow out 3RD/OD in the stage II.
Heat is bad but.................my oil was 325
on the edge but with a 6.0 iron truck block and running like I was.......I expected nothing less....now onto the oil cooler next
I don't have near the power of you FI guys.....but, I test my stuff to the limit so I know where the limit is..Hum.........that make me a test pilot

What makes heat bad is that is embrittles the rubber seals. Once they get hard, they leak pressure. Then you start slipping clutches, which makes more heat. Chain Reaction starts.

Yepper....quad, o-ring, lip........but I am more worried about the hard parts than soft. It took me 2 1/2 years to break it......broke hard parts. The seals were hardnened but no leaks

Would you guys recommend the Dex IV or III on a stock trans? I am installing a transcooler as I am doing the swap. The parts store is twice the price for IV as it is for III. Is it worth it?
