So Jeff, what's up with this? I mean, best of luck with the sale and the new setup and all, but for those of us who have been considering the Kenne-Bell, this is somewhat of a surprise. You are the poster boy of those things. Would you mind elaborating?

I've been flip-flopping myself back and forth between FI and a BIG motor based on the tall-decks that will soon be out (with a little NOS for those special situations), so I think I can understand your feelings. Only thing is, you're already months of work and $40k or more ahead of me! So my interest in your thoughts is more than academic.

Thanks for anything you care to share.

WOW , Jeff is in for another project. I think he likes the anticipation of the whole thing. + big numbers at the wheels.

GOOD luck Jeff. I am sure the next iteration of the beast will be incredible.

Not to say anything bad but this setup has yet to be proven in the big blower size, to bad as I really like the way the KB looks and makes power from idle, I know Jeff has lots of sweat and blood in 3 FI setups and going another way for him is probably a good thing

I actually have the same question... and also trying to decide if the KB is the way to go (compared to a MP122 Maggie or big inch displacement option). I was VERY surprised to see him putting it up for sale...

It's a shame to see the KB go but I am sure whatever is next will be just as good if not better.

Its nothing to do with the blower..

Ever since I saw the 454 I have been drooling over it. I love the thought of having a motor that puts out the same power N/A, than an LS6 with a blower.

I know that most of you guys think I am as stupid as they come, and thats just fine with me. I'm not afraid to keep doing things until I get EXACTLY what I want. I DONT settle... PERIOD.

The motor AND blower are running, driving, and being broken in. It was scheduled for the dyno last week, but I told them to hold off until I sorted out the PCV system. Again, I am just not satisfied with running a catch can/breather. So I will keep trying things until I get it the way "I" want.

The car gets driven daily in order to put some miles on it. So the looming question in everyones mind should be put to rest. If you dont believe me, take a ride over to LAPD and see for yourself.

As a mater of fact, I have been soo busy at work, that I forgot to let the guys over there know. They are still tuning away..

Sooooo, to sum it up... I have a 2.8H blower, ECS crank pulley, 8 rib pulleys for sale.. PM me if interested..

As far as the motor goes..............Does anyone have TTi's phone number??

Hay, Jeff did you check out the post in perform C5 section of the C5Z06 with the 427. It made 565rwhp 504rwtq. Now with a high compression 454 the rwtq could get to 550 and maybe even close to 600rwhp NA. Plus your mpg would be incredible for the displacement. 20mpg+ on the highway. BSFC would be .4-.5 compared to FI .55-.65 thats a lot less fuel!!

A 454ci should easily make high 500's with a streetable cam.

My old 447ci from ECS made 580rwhp 540rwtq, and ran 130+mph in full street trim and full tire up front. I'd wager with a 350cfm with a 235-245cc head, it may even crack 600rwhp. All depends how radical you want to get with the cam and compression.

To this day, I still wish I had that ECS 447ci motor.

Good luck Jeff. A big motor with a nice cam is intoxicating!

Naaaa,

I've already made up my mind. Theres no changing it. Hell, I've already started the parts process.

I have a few things I am working on now. I just dont want to make anything "Public" until I know for sure what I am doing.

Again, I know people are rolling their eyes or calling on what I'm doing. But unless they sleep next to me in bed, or walk on water, they dont have a horse in this race.

Heres whats important. I'm having FUN, and enjoying what I am doing. It may be distorted in some peoples eyes, but to me, its what "I" call fun..

My lips are sealed...

I think i'm gonna do the next build in secrecy. This way I dont get motherfuked the whole time..

Whatever happens, it will be with a PROVEN setup, that has taken alot of abuse.

Not me. To the contrary.

That's usually my philosophy as well, even if it means leaving a few bleeding-edge horsepower on the table. Hence all my questions.

Oh, C'MON! We all wanna follow along! Besides, if you're gonna do that, you might as well turn in your CF membership.

Are you going to do a tall-deck? They should be here very shortly. I asked about headers for them not long ago and GeorgeR at Kooks said they were working on them and should have them in a couple of weeks.

My thinking about this has gone along these lines: If 550-600 rwhp is the practical upper limit of what can be hooked on street tires (and mine is a daily driver in a rainy place, so I have to stick with that), and if that power level can be achieved with a large NA setup with pretty good driveability, then why go with the packaging, cooling, and other issues, to say nothing of the expense, of FI? Hmmmmm..... For those who have been here, your comments on that line of thinking would be appreciated.
