Thanks for the info
Most meth kits don't activate until about 3lbs of boost. From there the temp will start to drop. From what I've seen, if you are WOT the temp will dip and then stay more or less constant.

From say 100 deg IAT, the temp will start to drop when the meth activates maybe 10 or so degrees. If I stay WOT the temp will only climb a few degrees by the end of a 1/4 mile. Usually my IAT will stay below the starting point, in this example 100 deg. This is only my observations, there are a lot of other thing that can change the results.

If I drive the car down the freeway and activate the meth with the throttle left alone, the temp will drop 20 deg or so.

HI!

Yes, I was thinking about taking off my FMIC and just using meth for intercooling. I am only runnning 5.6 psi and that FMIC blocks too much air to my radiator in the summer. I was hoping the meth would do at least as good as the FMIC in terms of inercooling (in my case). Bet you can't wait to get your SC'd beast out of hibernation!
Have you thought about using twin intercoolers instead of the single? Do you have an air gap between your intercooler and your radiator? I've heard that this helps a bit, along with some shrouding. That's how Andy ships his Vortech kits and it's a Really Nice setup. When it was in the 90's here, my IAT's (monitored using EfiLive Flashscan) were 10 degrees over ambient without meth. I had NO problem with that! With meth, I'd probably be under ambient!

If I were you, I'd try to figure out a way to keep the IC because if relying on meth, if something hapeens to the meth kit, then you have NO intercooling.

As far as getting mine out of hibernation, you're right! I can't wait because Ive got my tune to finish up!

I don't know if twin intercoolers will work with my car or if it is even available. If I removed the intercooler, I would have my IAT sensor in my intake manifold and be tuning off of that. If something went wrong with the meth, then the motor would not be in danger as the appropriate amount of timing would be pulled.

There is a gap between my radiator and intercooler but I also have an oil cooler sandwiched in there too. The coolant temps get a little higher than i personally like to see. Not terrible, just undesirable. i want my coolant temps to behave the same way it did before the blower.

That makes sense! Can you move your oil cooler?

Perhaps. But I would still rather just remove the IC.....it's easier.
