I was hoping someone could give me some info on a IAT sensor. I am changing over to speed density and have a FAST manifold that I would like to install it in. I am using Alcohol spray, hence I would like to mount it after the spray. Can someone enlighten me on what is being done?
Thank You Glenn
In addition to the IAT sensor you also need the other parts I listed in the link to convert from the 5 pin maf. I got everything from http://www.oehq.com/
I ended up purchasing the seperate IAT sensor (My orignal IAT was integrated into my MAF) and tapped the air bridge just ahead of the throttle body. I then tapped the air bridge about 6 inches upstream of the IAT just after my intercooler for my alky nozzles.

Good luck
It would seem to me that now that there is no MAF you would want the sensor in the alcohol cooled air for a more accurate reading?
That sounds right to me. I was hoping that there was something that easily fit into the fast manifold. One member has given me a part# for a sensor. I am looking for any additional info that might be availabe.

Would you happen to have any pictures of your setup? Do you have an A4 or an M6? By taking the MAF off, with an A4, will that mess up the trans shifting?

The only part of the FAST I can think of that would work for the IAT is right behind the TB where the EGR would go on an F-body.

Here you go...I have an MN6. Not an expert here on tuning but I do not see how the MAF removal would effect the trans shifting.

No it wont!
I do not have the MAF and I have the 2 BAR SD tune in mine with the IAT between the TB and the METH Nozzle!
I see about a 20 degree drop with mine also. I have the ECS dual nozzle kit set a little over 1/2 on the gain. I'm sure I would get more temp drop if I had it up to full power. As it is, it sprays a lot of meth out.
On a long WOT pull through several gears the IAT starts to climb slowly. I have never seen it gain the 20 degrees back that the meth dropped it in the first place.
Mine is an 04 A4, removing the maf did not affect the tranny shift at all.
Thanks Guys! That was the only thing that I was worried about!
Hi Rudy! :
Still thinking about installing the meth on that BEAST of yours? My car's in hibernation, so I still haven't messed with the meth!
Is that you Rob?
HI!
Yes, I was thinking about taking off my FMIC and just using meth for intercooling. I am only runnning 5.6 psi and that FMIC blocks too much air to my radiator in the summer. I was hoping the meth would do at least as good as the FMIC in terms of inercooling (in my case). Bet you can't wait to get your SC'd beast out of hibernation!
