Default Crankcase pressure?

Anybody wanna tell me how much crankcase pressure should there be on a forged 347?

My PCV is disabled and the crankcase and valve cover are vented to the atmosphere.

Thanks

That's generally enough to keep the pressure at acceptable levels. Beyond that, you can consider vacuum pumps to pull a vacuum on the engine but that's probably unnecessary at the power levels an aluminum block can handle.

Are you noticing any symptoms or just curious?

Well said - you could also put a evac line to the inlet of the aircleaner just incase!

Thanks,Matt

Thanks guys!!

But the question still stands on how much air being pushed out of the crankcase a idle is acceptable if I am running the air through a 3/8" line.

It's a tough question because I'm not sure what you are trying to do. Are you trying to reenable your PCV? If you have your valve covers vented to atmosphere via breathers, it should be more than adequate to vent the blowby pressure. One sure sign of too much crank pressure is popping your dipstick up out of it's tube.

With all of your venting, you shouldn't be able to feel any pressure and see very little to no smoke from the PCV line where it plumbs into the intake. If you have either, you probably have a ring/piston problem.
