I have a 04 Ls1(all stock) and i was wondering if i were to put on a Pro Charger on the car what kind of gain in HP would i get and what all would i have to change as far as injectors/programing ect.?
Now this may sound dumb but i really don't want to go mod crazy with the exhaust, converter, gearing and so on I would like bolt on more HP.
Next if i were to do this how long would the motor live with street boost and (NOW HOLD FOR THIS ONE) what about gas MPG will it drop alot at HIWAY speeds ( I am aware MPG will DROP because i have medical condition with my right foot ).
I have a 98 with a P1-SC and im running a stock motor , I went with 60 lb injectors and dyno tuned @ EPP by brent .. I have had mine done for about a yr with the stock clutch , I also get around 26-28 mpg on highway , city driving its alot lower (cant keep foot out of it LOL)...
also sid i live in wabash maybe you can swing by and i can show you my setup in person ??? jay
oh i forgot im putting down 440 rwhp 7lbs boost on safe tune , i have bad springs, but i bought some 918's
Adding just a ATI/ProCharger P1SC-1 Stage II package with the furnished pre-programed Predator Tune for 7lbs of boost using the 38# injectors & 4.38" pulley in the kit, with correct tune...you should see 430 to 440RWHP. The "gain" would be the difference between what a dyno shows your current RWHP is.
On a trip, at Under 2500rpm cruising, you will see the same MPG as before the supercharger install.
On average, my gas mileage stays around 20mpg average..using the ProCharger "when I feel like it".. over 3000rpms: is when gas mileage drops ...BUT wow! does performance go UP!
With the above boost.. Good tunes and and responsible driving techniques...you should have normal engine life...that's up to You.

You mentioned having a converter.
If your car is an automatic, you need to assume going in that your transmission WILL break. You need to have $2,000 ready for a transmission. You may get lucky and not break it. I ran a P1SC with stock tranny, stock converter, stock gears, stock runflats, a big tranny cooler, and no track time. Tranny broke after 2 months. Now, I had short headers, no cats, and bullets, and was running a 4.10" pulley, ECS bracket, and A&A FMIC, so I may have had closer to 500rwhp than 450. Not sure because I never had it dynoed.
But, nonetheless, assume you will need a tranny and have an extra $2000 set aside in case.

Are you saying i need to BEEF up my trans? or just freshen in up?
The whole car only has 2200 miles on it so if it is fresh issue that should be covered.

I am saying there is a 50/50 chance you will break your transmission. It is not a freshness issue, it is an issue of how much power a stock a4 can handle. You may get lucky, you may not. Just have the $2000 set aside beforehand. If it never goes, no harm done.
i did run it down the track at muncie , but my cluicth wouldnt let me go into 3rd gear so i ran like crap i was low 13's .. I know i could run better if i had a new clucth.. getting at oz700 this summer put in .. jay
let me know if you have any more questions , ill try to help you..
I talked to Bob @ EPP fri he seemed like a real nice guy and willing to to take the time to answer all my questions.....I would think the car with only a Pro Charger added and street tires it should run mid 11's.
yea bob know what he is talking about when it comes to prochragers and brent is very good with corvettes .. best thing is there not that far from us , so it makes it easy to get this done .. jay

This C5 is an automatic, we installed an RPM transmission in it, and it also has a looser converter. This Corvette is literally a blast to drive, when you nail the throttle it is explosive! Bob

I've had my Procharger on a stock 01 for two years...running 7 PSI, tuner estimates 450-460 RWHP Not used as a race car..but gets run hard once in a while. I had to replace my clutch (had 45K on the stock so it was going anyway). Had some cooling issues with the kit fan - upgraded that and no more problems. Been trouble free. Mileage may have gone up a little on cruise...gone dowe a lot on throttle
I think you should run mid 11's...but haven't tried it myself because street tires don't allow a decent launch...of course they didn't with the stock motor either.....best I could manage was a 13.1 / 108 all stock.
Without tires (and SC added)...every ricer around will out pull the Vette from a dead stop go......
I agree on the auto tranny concerns expressed - they are a weak link and very expensive to fix.
