It's Alive!

This winter saw the Vortech S/C, LPE cam and adjustable double roller chain set go to that great auction site in the sky.
Last year's build included LG longtubes, HF cats, ported 243 heads with sodium valves and P.P. dual golds, forged Mahle pistons, hand filed rings, balancing, ARP studs,Textralia clutch, DTE brace, hardened output shaft, guages, and a ton of little things.
This winter I R&R'd the heads so they could be freshened. I replaced the cam with the infamous ECS Blower cam, and the overly complicated A/W intercooled S trim was chucked in favor of the wonderful kit from ECS. I have to say that they really put together a nice package. I'll be more confident in taking our usual summer trips with this under the hood. If I would have had to change a belt with the other set up I would have ended up flatbedding it back home.- Not a good thing on a 1500 mile trip.
I'm surprised with the idle. I had a little lope with the old cam and I don't hear any hint of it with this one. Hopefully the increased power will make up for the loss of lope.
Time to put a few odds and ends back together and give it a good cleaning and wash. I'll get it on the road early next week, then get it tuned.

Is that crazy guy up in Canada tuning it? If he is, you will be over 750rwhp for sure! Good luck and keep us posted!

Nouman, you are a madman.
I have no idea of what HP it will have, but I'm not going to shoot for insane numbers. I will only have street tires on it and have to admit that I'd like to get semi decent MPG out of it when I'm not on it. Don't flame me for saying that. We already have a 52 + MPG Insight, but as I said earlier, I like taking trips in the Vette. My last setup did not match well and I had low HP and bad MPG. I'm hoping to better both.
