I remember you telling me that you Swaintech coated manifolds started to "blister" up the top coat you had on the manifold.

Mine are doing the same...its weird how it looks...the coating is not actually flaking off but it is just "titting" up in hot areas.

Did yours stop after a while or continue to do this until it actually flakes off? did you ever contact anyone to figure out wht it was happening? Swainteck says youcan paint or coat over their coating.

Vibration fixed by the way...it was the mounts and the 2 piece torque tube....
Thanks Tom

I can tell you that a friend of mine had his exhaust done by a local powder coating outfit and it was fine. The local powder coater had his brother doing all of the ceramic coatings. He fired the brother and started doing the ceramic coatings himself. He used the same material to do another set of headers and for some reason, it blistered as you're describing, so I have to think it's in the preparation or methods since it's the same material and different person applying it.

Does it look like little bits of solder? Like small silver bbs?

I got mine swaintech coated then applied some 1800* Hershel High Temp paint to them. I have noticed the little tiny bits of what looks like solder...if this is what you are seeing it it is the impurities in the mild steel cooking off.

It's my understanding that you will not see this with cast or stainless...just mild.

I think I mentioned this like 2 years ago.

Wait to you see the new addition to hood....besides the C6 model Kerry will have done soon.

They seem to have lessened over time. I mainly noticed when I was running in hot temps or after one of my higher boost runs. The area in the collector right before the flange is where it seems to happen at. I haven't noticed it in a while though.

I will post some pics when my hood is done should be this friday.
