Default P1SC vs D1SC

Im new to getting into FI i need to know what is the better supercharger to go with and why. My car is an 03 z06 longtubes xpipe no cats prt exhaust and intake. I am going to do cam and supercharger install. The price is going to be the same if i buy this used kit with a P1SC vs a D1sc. what should i go with and why? Thanks mike

I would go with the DS1C, you can make the 550 or so on the stock bottom with less boost and when you go forged you can up the boost to make more. I went with the DS1C to start with, but then I went with a forged bottom and nothing but fun

I agree with Peter Pan. If you have the option for either, then the D1 makes more sense especially if you plan to up the power at anytime.

For the small difference in price, the D1SC is definitely the way to go.

why not just go for it ,,, F1-R at low boost, then when you go forged you change the pulley and up the boost. Admit it boys, once you get blown we always want more!

If your going to forge the bottom and are ultimately looking for some extreme performance the F1 series is the way to go. If your SURE you won't want more than 550rwhp...then save the $$$ and get the P1....one thing to remember...many FI projects started out with "I'll be happy with 550rwhp." and like myself pushed it to 850.

So I started with 750 rwhp, I guess the next step is to get with Arun and join the 1000+ rwhp for my next increase

Your gonna need a pulley as big as the underdrive to keep boost down. LOL

I just recently finished the install on mine and the shop had the 4.xx pulley on it and it was producing too much boost (12+psi)not good for stock bottom end... then they ordered the 5 inch (I believe) and it brought the boost down to a managable psi 7-10 yes for some reason it climbs as the rpms raise but it doesnt hit 10 until way high in the rpms...so for a stock bottom end with a D1 you would need a 5 inch or slightly bigger to obtain what your looking for I ended up with 560/500

Your choices in the Procharger line are the P1sc, the D1sc and their F series blowers. The folks who are steering you toward the D1sc are giving you good advice. It's worth having the larger 8 rib pulley (less belt slip issues) and greater ability to expand if your desires change in the future.

My story is fairly typical. I started with the D1sc and 8 lbs of boost. I'm now running a forged bottom, meth and 15 lbs. of boost. HP is addictive.

PS. As for the F series blowers, those are great if you plan to run 13+ lbs of boost. They have a higher step up ratio and can run larger sc pulleys. Sounds like your not there (yet). Of those, I'm told the F1a or c would be the logical choices. The F1r is typically for 16+ lbs boost applications and takes more hp to turn.

Good luck.
