I have a 2000 vert and am running out of fuel at 7 psi. I am 53-54 psi until boost where I drop to 48 psi. Since I have a 2000, the fuel pump is easy to get to. Is it OK to just get a bigger pump, or is it still necessary to get the harness and bap?
Thanks.
Is that the racetronix pump?
do you guys think the 255 is a big enough for the fuel pressure increase? Thanks again!
Both pumps are Walbro 255, the inside was branded Racetronix.
The second pump was for a Camaro which doesn't have the second port to suck fuel from the cannister, but it didn't have a checkvalve on the output. An aeromotive check valve ($70) was almost as expensive as a pump ($90).
Here's what I did after installing a Racetronics in tank pump and hot wire kit. I also added the return and regulator to the rails, which IMO, is one of the best fuel system mods to be had. There are two seperate write ups below, with the second one a Camaro dual in tank pump how-to, but will still apply and give some insight to the Vette dual pump set-ups. The first write up is an aux fuel system, that can be activated when ever you need, through various methods. Fuel Sytem Upgrade-Write Ups

Thanks alot everyone. At this time, the best I could get on the dyno was 489 rwhp, there was a 7 hp drop at 6000 rpms (i was running too hot of a plug) and also leaning out from 5600 rpms to redline (this is on an A4 with 3:42's and 20 inch wheels). Once I'm safe with the upgraded fuel system, and the cooler plugs, I'm hoping to break 500 rwhp.

Leaning out at higher rpms, or highest load normally indicates running out of fuel, which sometimes is as easy as a new fuel filter. But, your on the right track going for fuel system upgrades.

Thanks Robert.
I only have about 12,000 miles on my fuel filter so I don't think it should be too bad; but I'll be pulling it out and replacing it while I'm fiddling around in the fuel system anyway.
