Default Which supercharger?

And yes, I have done a search. Basically my car will be getting a cam in the fall, and a supercharger next summer or fall. These are my choices with the superchargers. Procharger P1SC or D1SC, paxton novi, or vortech. Which would suit me best? I will be running 8lbs of boost on a stock, non forged motor. It seems as though the P1 will make better low end torque than the D1, but then if I forge the motor I will need to upgrade. The one thing I do not like about the paxtons is how quiet they are (not going for sleeper), and the vortech's I do not know much about in general. I know all of the blowers will make tons of power, but I want something that I will not have to upgrade, hits hard, and is somewhat loud. Suggestions?

A&A T-trim Vortech. Excellent blower, complete package and top notch customer service. Andy makes himself available to his customers like no other and his custom kit with custom made brackets, pulleys and intercooler will ensure absolute reliability with no belt slip issues.

whatevery you decide to go with make sure you give yourself room to grow. it will only be a matter of time until you're used to the power and ready for more. Its a lot cheaper & easier to just pulley down rather then buying another setup/head unit.

A&A fan here. Make sure you are making a good cam choice this year, for next years blower install.

ECS novi is perfect. Call Chris or Doug at 609-752-0321.
Head unit isnt loud, but put a larger blow off and a loud exhaust and you will be happy. Cant beat the results up top and low end. JUst look at all the 9 second avatoars out ther. THeir customer service cant be beat.

Being that you live close to us Dave, stop by and take a ride in a Paxton car and you can make the decision for yourself.

I would stay Vortech or Paxton...Seam to have better reliability than the Proleakers/SlowChargers

I have owned 7 Vortechs now and always been happy with them.

If you do buy a Procharger just go with the D1 so you have room to move.

What kind of reliability problems do the Prochargers have? Max, how much would I be leaving on the table going with the D1 down low compared to the P1 at 8lbs? I remember you recommending me the P1 when I was at the shop last time.

Not sure why you're expecting to be losing low rpm torque with a larger blower. The larger blowers flow more air per revolution and another nice thing is you could add a restrictor plate to greatly increase low end torque and cap the top end boost.

Coming form a Mustang Drag racing backgound I have seen my fair share of blower cars. The P1's and D1's seem to require rebuilds much more frequently than the S Trims and Novi's. I don't have alot o0f experience with the F1, F2, or F3's size blowers.

Prochargers customer service in the past has been less than stellar either. Maybe that has changed though ?

Anyone have sound clips of the novi at idle and cruising speeds? I really don't want a sleeper car for sure, but the novi seems like it might be my best bet.

Not knowing much about the different types of superchargers myself, I am trying to see what is the difference between P1's, D1's ,and
S Trims?

No reliability issues that I've seen.

No difference really. The D1SC just gives you more head room down the road if you plan on going big later on. We've gone 10.20's in the quarter with a P1SC, so no real need to go bigger for a while.
