Default Forced induction

I'm curious... what is the ultimate forced induction setup?

I'm very interested in the Turbo Technologies kit because I rode in a car with that setup and I liked it's clean look. When the guy showed me under the hood only thing that stood out was the metallic intake piece.

However, I was wondering what experience others had with various forced induction setups.

One of my biggest concerns is finding a kit that has a clean install / look. Doesn't require me to twist kink and bend half the car to fit it in.

If you are interested in turbos I would definatley go with the TTiX kit. Hands down the most proven set up.

If you are interested in a supercharger I would consider taking a look at our Paxton kit..

What are you going to be using the car for? That might help us make some recommendations for you.

I bought my corvette to make a race car out of. Then I saw it and realized it's an amazingly nice, clean, car it is. So I just drive around town in it ... Maybe a road trip or two It gets driven maybe 1000 miles in the summer and that's it because I live in Minnesota.

Ultimately, I'd like to install a power adder of some sort while it's stored over the winter. Someday my goal is to actually race. I'd especially like to do one of those long endurance races where they go like 100 miles and average nearly 200mph.

So I'd like a setup that allows me to make use of as much of the stock setup as possible. Then as things go out like fuel pumps and what not I can start really bumping up the power.

hopeuflly that that all makes since.

Our system has evolved into one heck of a setup... fit, finish and price...

As for "what is the ultimate?" the great debate her in F/I.

Our supercharger kit really cant be beat as far as value goes. It does everything very well from street driving, winning races to winning shows. We have more 9 second C5's running our kit than anyone else. Last year we also brought 2 of our Paxton cars out for the Silver State Classic endurance race and they both did very well.. Here is a video we made from last years run..

Any questions at all feel free to let me know.

Where can a person buy JUST the kit? And what do you sell them for? I'm a mechanic and do all my own work.

East coast,A&A, Turbo technology, all have links on the left side of this page. You should contact them directly for pricing. Then take that figure, double it and if you are careful,do all your own work, pray every night, and the stars are all aligned that figure will be a good start.Remember, you will need a variety of supporting hardware when building a FI car to last, the kit is just a start ! Good luck, you cant go wrong with any of them !

Call ECS they can sell you the kit (The Best Supercharger Kit Out There) Don't settle for less, it will cost you more in the long run. Just read about all the upgrades people are doing to the other kits, it's crazy. I still have the same 3 year old kit. Like I said just read and you'll get the picture.

I would suggest A&A or ECS kit. If you are close by Pierre, South Dakota sometime, you are most welcome to check my car out

Hi, I live here in Maple Grove MN and have the A and A kit. I highly recommend this kit. Ive upgraded from a P1SC to a D1SC and have put a built 427 in my car and it runs great. I have over 30,000 mi on the blower system and not a hickup. Email me if you want to chat.
YYZSFO@msn.com cheers Rick

The TTiX is the cleanest looking turbo kit out there, then probably lingenfelter or APS. Those are the cleanest turbo kits out there. Now, if you want a custom looking, best performing kit possible, use the PTK kit, which you'd have to contact Nick Yoskin for, since he's currently in development of making something similar/better.

If you want a blower, go with the above mentioned.

Awesome. I like the clean look of the A&A kit. I'll have to read the manual. I'd just like to install it as is w/ necessary tuning for now. Then later on pump up the fuel etc to make 1000+ hp. Is that possible with that blower?

Also, I'm curious can you buy the super chargers as used on the ZR1? I'd think that'd be a pretty slick setup to bolt onto my LS1

Well... last year at the Silver State Classic there was a group from Norway that averaged over 200 mph, and I believe the record is in the teens (21x) if I'm not mistaken.

I was planning on going back this year and run the 180mph class, but things were just too busy here so I had to cancel. However, those are purpose built cars, with very experienced drivers and navigators running over 200, but it can and is done.

You are so lucky to be asking this question today...had you asked this question back in 2002 there would have been only one answer...LPE.

Now you have
ECS
A&A
TTiX
APS
LPE

as rock solid kits.

If you have any question about what I am saying click on the link to my homepage and you will see the first version of the A&A (prior to ECS) and TTi Stage III kit and what was the PTK/S kit.

Interestingly I ran across pics lately of what was the originator of the A&A/ECS kit before they made major modifications to the kit on their own.

If you want something different you can attempt the Ebay knock of version of my Haltech knockoff version....it's a dude playing a dude disguised as a another dude"

But the risk is pretty high on what you may or may not get since it is not made officially by a company anymore that is represented on this board.

For that stick with the vendors on here and you can at least have (ONE) of the Ulitmate FI setups. There are different characteristics to each kit...but the one thing that they all have in common is that they will make your car haul azz....if you can drive it.

Nice.... There's a road race course in AZ or NM I cannot remember which. It's virtually a straight line for a very long distance. Maybe you've never heard of it. I'm trying to look up the times on it but cannot remember the name of it.

Last time I heard about it there was a highly modified C5 Corvette that pretty much owned the course. If I'm not mistaken his average speed was 194mph. But I have been known to be wrong

Yeah that's exactly it. They have miraculously fast runs on those courses. Someday I'd always wanted to give a race like that a try. However, I think these guys require at the very least a roll cage which I'm not ready to install I'd hate to tear up the interior of my car to fit one.

Years ago, the first car to run, I believe, a 198 or so average speed at the Silver State was a young guy driving a full tube chassis 69 Camaro, Gotlieb, I think his name was.
In order to hit those high average speeds, he was actually hitting near 230mph on some of the straights.
It is extremely tough to do, and very dangerous, too.
People have died attempting this in those very races.
You will need more than just a roll cage to run in those Unlimited groups.
Thank goodness there even exists this type of racing in the U.S.
