Hello everyone, I just got through fixing my vette from where I hit the deer...looks good as new, but it is running like sh**. I am not sure what is going on but just like the night I hit the deer the vette was running rough. So I am here to ask what you guys think. When I amjust cruising down the road idle is good, oil pressure is good, everything seems to be good to go but when I attempt to do some spirited driving or quick interstate pulls it doesnt want to boost up. and you can barely hear the blowoff valve like it isnt making any pressure. It feels like I have a vaccum leak or something. Do you think I could have some fouled out plugs I recently had a bad oil leak (broke a oil line) it feels like when your down tube or tune going from the throttle body dissconnects which I know from experience blew it off a couple times!!! I know it could be a range of different things just hopeing turbos didnt crap out on me. I am making about 3 to 4 pounds of boost at the most I have 9lb springs in it right now and I had to bypass the boost controller till I install my new one. So what do you guys think Ihave a PTK twin turbo set up running twin t70's and you can see everthing else in my signature. Thanks in advance for any guidance. Jason
i have the ebay version of that kit, and my car acted like that when one of the clamps coming off the turbo to intercooler was loose. the pipe was still on, it would just leak under boost.
Time for a boost leak test. Cap off both ends of your system and pressurize. You'll hear it. Let us know what you find after performing the test.
I agree... also check the turbo's are still spinning freely. Also, whenever I had a plug wire go bad, I could feel it first when putting the car under load. It would drive fine driving around town.
Hello everyone,
I really appreciate all your help. I havent been on here since I posted and turns out one of my tubes going down to the intercooler was loose, go figure something stupid. Still not acting exactly right but at least I can boost up now. I think I need to change the plugs AGAIN. If that doesnt fix it really don't know what to do. Doesnt really matter cause I am pulling the motor in a couple weeks for the motor swap. So then I can deal with any issues I find along the way. Thanks again everyone for your help. you never let me down.
.....Im gone for the weekend and look what happens........Let me know if you want to look it over real good and i ll drive out to your place! Unless you just want to wait for the engine swap to work out the bugs....-Jason
