Two questions; Is it really necessary to pull the pulley off the power steering pump for installation? How? What tool should I use if so.
Is it necessary to rotate the ABS unit? The person I got it from said he left his in the stock location on his Z06. I have the Vortech bracket, just wondering if I should go through the hassle?
Okay, more than one question but...
So you got a Vortech kit, but not an A&A Vortech kit? No way you should have to rotate any ABS unit regardless. I don't understand why you would even need to remove the PS pulley unless you're changing it out. If you are, you should be able to do that by taking the alternator and bracket loose and using the install/removal tool that most of my local auto parts stores rent. That's how I did it. I never removed the hoses. Just took the bracket off the block, raised it up and swapped the pulley.
If you have the original Vortech kit with the Alt on the Drivers side you will need to pull the PS pulley in order to move the pump to the new bracket. You only have to move the ABS unit in early, I believe under 2000 C5s. You may end up moving to Andy's kit as the original Vortech kits either jumped belts or had belt noise, either way a PITA. Andy's bracket is around $600 bones but well worth it. You would also need a new intercooler and get rid of the ATW set up Vortech provides. I know this is a hastle and the cost is high. You may try the origianl set up, let me know if your missing any pieces as I have a complete kit (minus the SC) in my garage. I have never sold it as I would not wish the problems I faced with the kit on anyone. Just my opinion.

That's an incredibly nice offer Steve!
I agree with Steve though. You should consider getting Andy's goodies. I have been really happy with his kit. Just like the other 1000 customers using his kit. Easy to install. Very functional and well thought out.
MAybe I miss understood you. The Vortech kit I have relocates the alt. to the passenger side. Is this still the same scenario?
Yea thats the older kit which moves alternator to passenger side.
Would be very beneficial if you can afford it to get the newer brackets setup from Andy at A&A and leave everything in its original places or having to change things around your alternator alone. Maybe he has some used ones around for a price break. He also might have the old style intercoolers left at a discount as well which I have and it works just fine.
i was in the same position a few years ago...i dont think you can just swap out for andy's stuff and keep the head unit..i could be wrong...i also had a 99 and remember having to try and relocate the abs...dude...sell the kit on fleebay and spend an extra couple of $$$ try and get in on a group buy and pick up one of andys kits...you will be much happier in the long run...i learned that the hard way

You can use the head unit that comes with Vortechs kit, I am using mine but it is a T trim now. Should be a YSI with the 427 but don't want to throw the coin right now as the car is strong already.
Good point on the used front mount intercoolers for Andy's kit, I have seen them posted pretty cheap.

Yes the one you have is the early Vortect model released in 2002.
Do you have the manual? If you need one let me know, I am looking at it as we speak.
I also have several of the pulleys, both cog and smooth needed to increase the boost, not rec on stock bottom ends unless you are looking to replace your motor after blowing out #7 piston
You can use the supercharger you have with our system... it will basically be a stage 4 upgrade. If you already have some of the components, we can take them out to reduce the cost...
