Default Speed Density Question....

So im arguing with a friend of mine and he is telling me that you still need your MAF in place with a speed density tune. I disagree as it will be turned off anyways.....

What does everyone else have to say....

You're right! Speed Density doesn't use the MAF, but you can still leave it in place, just turned off.

Mine is still in place, but I'm just not using it.

You only need it on 01+ cars until you wire in a IAT sensor seperate from the MAF, sense the IAT sensor is built into the MAF on the 01+ cars. Other than that there is no need for it.

There is a conversion process to put a normal IAT sensor in place. Toss the maf... It looks better

You have to splice in a harness and get the sensor from a 97-00 C5 or f-body. Or if you want to get a thread in type sensor I think you get it for a typhoon (not positive but it has been discused on here before).

I ditched my maf when I went to the 2 bar tune, just spliced in a IAT sensor from an earlier year C5.

Much cleaner look
