Default 75 shot?

A buddy of mine has a 75 shot kit he wants to get rid of, actually he has two a Zex and a NOS. I was wondering first which one would be better or no difference. I'm also planning to wire it to a switch and get a nitrous controller. Second I was wondering how much spray I should set it to. I've heard you can go as high as 150 with stock internals but I don't think I want to push it that hard. I know nitrous is hard on a car but will 75 cause a lot of strain and wear? I'm also gonna get a dyno tune next week so shouldn't I get the nitrous before or after? And if I tune it for nitrous will it run bad if I decide to take it off, in other words will I have to get it retuned? My car is pretty much stock, I just have a Vararam, smooth coupler, Z06 MAF, 160 degree thermostat, cat-back, and NGK TR5s and Taylor Spiro Pro wires.

I have a 75 shot on my bone stock 2002 mazda protege 2.0L 4 cylinder.

If he is advertising them as a 75 shot kit, what that probably means is they are "import" or 4 cylinder kits with small solenoids. If so, they wont support the bigger shot you will surely want in the future.

Zex makes vehicle specific kits, but can be retrofitted and commonly are. NOS has some great kits and some really low quality kits. Example, the kit on my Daily beater mazda protege is a NOS sniper i got brand new on ebay for $300 including shipping.

If i was to put a kit on my C5Z, i would buy the harris kit with the plate.

I have had nitrous on alot of cars. 75 shot on my 4 cylinder is like a 200 shot on a vette. If you set it up right and tune it right, dont activate it at a low RPM and dont bounce off the rev limitter alot, you will be fine.

Get the car tuned with the nitrous in case they have to set up any retard in the tune.I know it's a 75 shot but you wont be satisfied with that for long

That's what I was thinking, whatever I start with I will want to try more in the future. I should just stay away from it for right now cause I can't afford a new engine huh?

I have used the Zex kit for 2 years a few years back. Jetted with a 125 shot with a completely stock LS1 motor. I also combined the kit with a dry NOS shot too. The Zex is so so safe. I ran mid 10's with both my shots with the stock 120,000 mile motor for the 2 years.

So, I guess I should become a Zex rep or something LOL !!
