Been browsing the forums learning stuff and I came across a thread on another forum reference bypass valves.
I have some newb questions. I’m currently running the Vortech Mondo BPV pictured here I was wondering what is the item circled in yellow?
Second question, is there some type of preventive maintenance I should be doing to it? read a few things about filters and such and I wasn’t sure what to make of it. I faithfully change the charger oil and clean airfilter but havent paid much attention to the BPV.
Last question Procharger Big Red Race Bypass Valve. I would like to swap out the Vortech for it but not sure how it relates to the rest of the system, meaning would it be overkill would it hurt me in any way as far as boost pressure etc or would it be fine? Ascetically I like the way it looks and I think it would complement the set up...thoughts? thanks!
Here is a pic of what Im looking at. I would have to have a flange welded on in order to get it to fit. I think this came off Mustang kit
thanks Matt didnt think I was going to get answer unfortunatley I do not have another angle of that on my work puter I will check on my laptop when i get home and upload if I do.... you didnt address if maintenance was needed on it just want to make sure Im not overlooking anything..thanks!

Sorry I took so long to get back to you, but they really don't need any maintenance. They usually don't go out.
On mine I just test it every so often, or watch it actuate and make sure the Vacuum line is still connected and not busted.
I believe the purpose of the sintered brass is an air filter, noise supression is secondary. The diaphragm moves when the blow off valve changes position, this filter assures no particles will get in.

I have had very good luck with thousands of these sold over the years. Quiet and reliable and can be plumbed on the exhaust side anywhere in the car. Lifetime replacement for any reason!!! If anyone wants one, PM me and I will take $10 off.

That's what I thought, need to find a replacement for it quick.
