Fixed them and next dyno picked up 140 rwhp. I think with the Meth & the hi horse supercharge combination, only a matter of time.

Hi Gus, glad to hear your car is back to making big power again! No problem with my cats now, but was just curious what others were experiencing. The general consensus is that its only a matter of time, but dynotech cats seem to have a bad track record. I'm using American Racing cats let see how long they last!

Ceramic cats just explode and dump out the exhaust like sand. The "metallic" cats seem to "unwind" and then start to come off the sides until the start protruding on the inner edges-slowly killing power.
I definitely think its from the meth and fuel mixtures and the amount of airflow running through the cats.

Basically I can sum it up this way, the more power you make, the sooner they'll be coming out.

I think removing my cats will be my 1st mod next spring. Ive got the kooks catted midsection. The tune has never been anywhere near correct ever since this car was brought down from Colorado.

I plan on putting in 2 bullet style mufflers somewhere in-line on the system just to keep the noise down once the cats are gone.

Any concerns with removing the cats since I'm running 02s right after them??

Arun, do you ever come to Edmonton?? Interested in tuning/making more power on an MTI car??

So which one do you recommend as replacements Arun? I don't think mine are working to well do to the emissions results and was looking for a good replacement. I currently use the Random Technology cats.

let us know

I think Arun should head out on a road trip and stop in Winnipeg on the way to SD tune my car!

I love road trips!

Tyler-as soon as I get some time I'll help you dial in your car. I'm just on my way back to Ontario from sunny Cali.

The Magnaflow cats are what I use, but they won't last forever. They were never designed to be used in a cars that makes 700+ rwhp.

They work great to pass an e-test and there very reasonably priced.

I will order a set off you and then I will install them before I come down next year for the dyno tune. I really wish I could have made it up this year but not in the cards due to work

Arun sounds good! I'm still waiting on a few parts and then I can finally get my Alkycontrol kit installed! With my luck, it'll be -40 here next week with 3 feet of snow! Have a safe trip home! PM sent!
