Crimp the tabs in the fuse holder tighter, (pair of pliers etc) they come very loose for some reason from the factory which causes heat to build and melts it down. The fuse wont blow because it is not over amped, just over resisted.
We have done that for years with them and have not had a problem since.

Thanks your right it was loose that's why the fuse melted down without blowing! Very helpful thanks Scott
Another good idea is to jumper the stock MSD fuse holder and move the fuse to a more accessible location.
Why they put it right next to the box is beyond me.

Yes it blew the fuse 1 time, when it was mounted on the frame rail behind the L.F. tire.
Found the holder full of water, that's when I decided to move it.
Not fun changing it down there, never had a problem since.
I had a MSD BAP go bad (it began to smoke and stopped working), so I replaced it the new one worked fine for a day or two, then would intermentitly stop working, after reading this thread I snugged up the fuse connection and it now works great!
Thanks to all the guys with experiance giving us ideas, it would have been a long time before I thought of that one.

Used too have the same problems on the cheaper fuses used on amp kits when I worked with car audio.
