Very nice, Dave. Great foot work.
Thanks for posting the video and describing the technique. I think I may finally get it.

WOW.... Very Nice.
There's guys in this section who would have broken a half dozen output shafts trying to cut that kind of light. 9.9x at 106... Talk about hookin and shiftin.. That is very impressive.
Congrats.. AND..... Its not a Novi... j/k Chris/Doug..

Thanks everyone. Clutch is a McLeod RXT twin ceramic with a Tick master. Feels very close to a stock pedal, yet obviously holds a lot of power.
Robert, tires were Hoosier Drag Radials 255/50-16. Learned these tires like a LOT of air in them and a lot of RPMs. Ended up with 23#, but could probably go higher. Launch was north of 5k, but a very slow release of the clutch to prevent shock to the system.
The key is to feed throttle as the clutch starts to grab. You cannot let the RPMs drop below your max HP point.
Everyone has their own style, but I believe the clutch is a consumable if you are going to have big power. Let the clutch do it's thing and you will save a lot of broken parts. There are a lot of videos of my passes. Nothing looks violent at all. That's because I have a slow release of the clutch.
Pretty sure Robz has a similar approach. He cut some low 1.3 60', yet it still didn't look violent. He also uses a McLeod clutch.
McLeod rebuilds are $300 plus $125 for balancing. I'll take that over $3k+ for diffs/trans.
I'm pretty proud to have done it with a 6 speed, but have to admit - I get a little jealous when I hear Chris having to detune to run 10.00. Pretty amazing what these stock blocks are capable of.
Thanks. No turbo here though. A&A D1SC

Do you know how long your riding out the clutch? I want to try this approach and want my spray only coming in once the clutch is out, so just set a delay in my controller.
Congrats Dave and damn fine drivin. A nice reward getting your goal, that you've been planning all year and did it. Amazing that a stock motor LS6 can run into single digit race car territory with proper setup. Sets the bar pretty high!
I like that launch technique, you can see exactly what's happening in the video. Ride the clutch out from the start to the tree. When I realized that trick, I already switched to auto, but I do like the torque converter.

Dang, I don't remember! It's a bypass valve, I think the Vortec.
I remember the 10.85. Didn't think I would ever get there! Then Chris popped a 10.27 and I bout gave up. Somehow I went from at 10.5 to 10.19 in one day. I knew then 9s were within reach. There's more in it as the DA was good but not magical.
I'm riding it about 20'. Throttle control is the tough part. I gotta be out of the clutch when the boost kicks in. Prolly similar to your hit.
As far as wear on the clutch. Going by when I pulled it out last month, I'd bet I could get 100-125 launches out of it easy. I had about 25 passes on it and there was zero dust. I've got a pic if you want to see it.
thanks matt. last dyno was in 80* temps and it was 651/540.
Thanks everyone!
Yea, Chris's car when you look at, hood open, the non-in the know, would think it's a stock set-up, lol. I have ridden in it and it pulls and pulls and pulls. Hell, I am jealous of both of you guys, lol. I remember when, a few years back, I was bragging about having the stock-block record with a 10.85, but now you guys have taken it to a new level. Haven't been to the Z06 section yet, but don't forget to add to the Fast List.
