It was working just fine last week, now I went home on thanksgiving (with my duramax) my stereo hot wire got pulled out, thanks best buy with their stereo service, and made sparks blowing up the radio, amp, and stereo fuses.. and frying my transmission control unit. $1500..
Anyway take a bus home take my car out for a spin and notice the alky pump light stays red. I topped it off with meth just incase and still nothing. I hit the test button it stays red the entire time. Any ideas?

I think all vehicles and electronics hate me.
If you would like to call the shop in the A.M. I can give you a test procedure you can do.
Just replaced mine !! It seems the area that most use to mount this unit (driver side inner fender /mounted to the frame ) is directly below three udders that dump cowl water right on top of the pumpGranted the pump is sealed and the top screws & wiring grommet have a sealant around them, but the sealant fails over time and water gets inside and farks it all up . Remove one or both of the long screws that hold the pump together (screws at the top where the main wiring harness comes out ) if they are rusty/rusted , the pump is not re-buildable ( fro Julio himself ) and is garbage !!! Ask me how i know Anyway Julio is in the process of making a (raincoat )for the pumpMy new pump got a heavy dose of sealant on top of the screws (you can't even see em ) and around the harness where it leaves the body then the top half got a condom made of heavy plastic and taped off I'm in line for one of Julios raincoats but i'm sure this will keep it dry until then Hope this helps you
Glad to know Julio is making a Rain cap for it! Mine is installed right where you said!
Its a very bad spot and the prime location of most installers but hopefully the"Meth Pump Condom" Julio is producing will solve this problem . Hell my car is parked inside in air conditioning, never gets wet from rain, so all of the water that hit mine was from washing the car and my pump only lasted 2 years So anyone with a car parked in the weather, or driven in the rain, the pump is getting doused all the time and doesn't stand a snowballs chance in hell of the length of life it should get Julio when are the raincoats coming???I don't want my new pump FUBAR !!
Same thing happend to mine. Pulled the bolts and they were rusted just like he said they would be. He let me have one for $130 shipped. Said it was the cost of the pump. What is this rain cap you speak of? I just loaded the top of my new pump with sealer when I installed it.

We had one failures in a car which lasted 4 months , and two failure on two car that had them installed a year ago by ESC. We are now shielding all pumps as most of our customer like washing there cars alot. We are also waiting for Meth shield from Julio.

a temp fix might be an old inner tube wrapped over the top with something tying it down. I know it sounds cobbled together but until julios solution comes in it might do.
Guys there are a few things you can do to test the pump.
I have a harness that you basically unplug the map and plug into the end of it. It jumpers the +5 reference from the map to the green signal wire going to the pump. Have a button installed on it, push it and this will apply 5V to the sensor wire giving you full pressure. This is if you are running a 2BAR SD setup and have the main sensor running the alky kit as well.
If you have the kit installed under the dash with a sensor you have to go under there, but you can basically do the same thing on the sensor.
I have a transmission pressure gage that I have a "T" in and put this on the line right after the filter and can measure the pressure.
With dual nozzles installed you will see about 125-150 psi on the system with 5V applied to the sensor.
Guys I discussed this with Julio.
He is going to talk to Doug.
But I thought I would post some pictures of the fix he has in process.
Any additional information will come from ECS
The basic issue is the drain that is removing water from the wiper area is also dumping it directly on the pump where they are normally located. Honestly I never even noticed it. I have take the last two kits and got a good thick freezer ziplock bag and covered the end of the pump down about 3-4 inches and zip tied it in place, this should prevent the water from getting into the end of the pump and causing it to rust. Hope this helps.
Also since a few have mentioned it, here is a picture of the pressure transducer for logging the pressure.

Where do the wires come out of the raincoat? On top i imagine,so that means there will be a hole or grommet on top of the shield --sounds like more sealant on top irregardless(hole in the roof) ! Please show pics of the top
No.. wires come out the open end of the sleeve by the head. No holes on top.
Since the pump sits facing down, water cannot travel upwards. Still deciding whether to put a small bead of RTV on the lower portion to really seal it. I had some sealant tape.. dont like it, tried some heat shrink tubing.. dont like it.. open seems to be the best. It is a tight fit. probably a nice HD zip tie or worm clamp would be overkill..
Pump pricing Dec 2009 is 150 plus S&H.
With the Holidays delaying shipping.. the sleeves should be available mid Jan. Maybe sooner.. They where ordered 8 weeks ago.
They will be free to anyone with a system that requests it. And all pumps after Mid Jan 2010 will come with sleeve on them. Install should take a few minutes once pump is dismounted.
They will also fit any pump on the market that is 3 inch diameter. And keep any water from penetrating the motor section.
