Default MSD window switch install Q's

I don't have nitrous, but i do have some stuff i'd like activated at "x" RPM. I'd like to install an MSD window switch to do this.

What wires will i need to tap to do this install?

thanks.

I also have wanted to use the MSN window switch to limit my RPMs. That way, I could create a 'valet' mode to keep anyonbe else from driving my car too hard. it would limit the RPMs to 2000. I Just nevet found a way to do this.

Typically you'll need to tap into a coil wire (RPM) and a throttle wire (TPS) and then instead of wiring the activation wire to the solenoids just wire it to whatever your using. Obviously your going to have a power, ground, etc also. If you search you should be able to find the specefic wires to tap into for the RPM and TPS, I dont remember the colors off the top of my head.

The rpm signal is a white wire on pin 10 of the blue connector of the ecu. It is also accessible under the dash above the steering column. There's a large bundle of wires (there's only one large one) however there are 4 white wires in that bundle. Trial and error on finding which one. I took a straight pin and stuck it through each wire until the window switch would turn on/off.
Set your window sw at 2k on, 4k off during testing.

yep. Clip onto a wire, start/check, next. I tried to check for continuity between the pin 10 white wire and one of those but all showed resistance.

On my web site I have the wiring diagram that i used for activating my aux in-line Bosch fuel pump. Its' the MSD RPM activation sw, a little different from the window sw, but wiring is the same. It is also the pill style, not the digital, but again the wiring is all the same as far as I know. There, IIRC, are some other wiring diagrams with the MSD included which may give some additional insight. Mr Jones from this site converted my hand drawn diagram in to this nice schematic. http:nitrouswiringschematics.htm
