Default Clutch Recomndation?

What type of clutch do you recommend? I have TTiX, 382ci stroker, meth and all other supporting modes, currently i have Monster clutch stage 5 but it's not holding well with my setup the car is making 625rwhp and 685rwtq. Any help would be much appreciated.

We have tried Ram,Mcleod single and twins,Exedy twin and triple carbon clutches all these gaves us poor results and failures. Below are what we believe to be the best clutches on the market for our corvettes.

Spec Twin P-Trim 402 novi 900+ rwhp 70+ dyno pulls and 10.1 @ 149 drag strip passes.

RPS triple carbon/carbon 427 TTIX 1050rwhp over 20 dyno and track runs 9.71 @ 157.14

Call me if you want a deal on one.

I didn’t have good luck with my Spec twin. My experience has been the exact opposite of Leo12’s in the fact that mine had severe chatter. Although it produced some passes in the 9.6x range it only lasted around 20 passes or so before letting go. In all fairness to Spec I’m pretty aggressive on the clutch with around 800 RWHP and really haven’t been thrilled with any other manufacturers either. The RPS billet triple carbon clutch that I’m currently using is truly unbelievable… NO BS… Besides recently helping me make a record 9.25 @ 153 MPH pass it is just Absolutely Unreal to drive on the street!!! I’ve used so many clutches with so many disappointments that I’m happy to finally have one that I like… When I drove my car off the lift after Mark (Tirecraft) installed it I had a smile from ear to ear. No chatter, no high RPM’s to accelerate… It’s apparently built to take some serious abuse with the carbon/carbon technology and so far it has… It does have different characteristics when it’s hot. It’s “grabbier” when I slip it hard, but that’s fine because I’m expecting it afterwards. It’s also on the pricey side, but well worth it in my opinion… The old saying is so true in this case – “you get what you pay for”!!! It’s not perfect, just the nearest thing I’ve found to date.

Believe me that I’m not trying to discredit Spec, a lot of guys like their clutches. It’s just my honest personal experience.

Oh yeh, one more thing worthy of mentioning… The RPS staff knowledge is superior and the customer service is truly “Second to None”!!!! 99MALLETT396 You should Call Rob and see for yourself!

ACT - twin disk - it will be the last clutch you buy, it's that good!

We have ZERO issues with ACT and will not consider other brands in any of our builds. Max clamping load and extremely easy pedal pressure. ACT is a large manufacturer, not simply a reseller and stands behind their product better than any clutch manufacturer I have ever worked with.

check our website or check ACT for further details....

I've been running the Mcloed Duel disk in my C5 for 5 years now. It works great for me, and is rebuildable for a very reasonable cost.

I also run the RPS street twin lite in my C6, and like that one as well.

Good luck with your choice.

Couldnt agree with you more. We run RPS in ALL of the cars we build. They are BY FAR the best clutch on the market.

If you need one let me know ill give you the best price possible.

Default clutch

my car makes 866 rwhp and 862 tq and I run the p-trim SPEC SUPER TWIN and have no problems at all. Closes to stock peddle feel!!

My brother has a RPS carbon to carbon "$$$$" and it's much more stiffer then mine...but holds great..

Just my .02

Haven't heard of the "ACT" clutches before. Do the singles come with a flywheel or have the option too ?

Singles are presently not available with ACT manufactured wheel - we use Findanza aluminum or steel wheels with ACT.

What steel flywheel weight options are there ? I'm looking for light weight steel wheel / clutch combo.
