I have a 00 vert with 50K miles and a Maggi M112, yesterday was driving took it up to 6500 RPM. Drove to work car ran normal, went to go home and the car has developed a severe knock, which goes away around 2500 RPM. Car idles fine, except for the knock vacumn, is at 12 inches, no anti freeze in the oil, did I spin a bearing? How about the Maggi internal bearings? Any constructive comments would be apprichated. Thanks

Get an engine stethoscope for 15.00 at your local auto parts store and start poking around. If it gets worse under load (acceleration), you probably lost a rod bearing. How's your oil pressure? If it's low, just turn it off and tear it down.
I doen't know if you have a magnetic drain plug.If you do and you have spun a bearing there will be a lot debri on the end of the plug. You can also have your oil analized.Any large trucking company in your area will know where to send it.
Good luck.
Thanks Gentelman for your post,
Dodged a big bullet,,,,I went and bought a steth-a-scope, removed my left side coil cover (that's were the noise was comming from) and noticed the air pump hose was off and rattling against the frame rail.
Checking to see if I have a bad check valve,,,which created pressure.
I have got to say RPM has great buys on motors. My next project is to intall a one of his forged LSX next winter. I will be looking for advice on a LS6, LS2 or Stroker with my Maggi M112.
