Default Boost gauge really necessary when SC?

This might be a stupid question, but is a boost gauge really necessary when you supercharge your car?

The way I see it nothing is going to make the car boost higher since it's not regulated by a wastegate like a turbo car, so what's the point?

Couldn't you just plug in your laptop with HPtuners everynow and then and datalog f you suspect you are having boost issues?

It is always a good idea to keep an eye on boost and fuel pressure and SPA has a dual digital gauge that has a ton of features

Check it out.

Yes you need one just like you need a gas guage.
Don't fool your self you have started spending money on mods
and you will continue to do so.
Good luck.

when supercharged, if you can only justify one gauge, at least install a fuel pressure gauge...you'll always need to know if you have adequate fuel pressure, especially under load--- at WOT..

I would, what if you r&r something on your car one day and accidentally fix a boost leak causing a 1-2psi increase that was never there and blow the motor?

It's also nice to know your vacuum to see the health of the motor and if you have any leaks vacuum/boost plus isnt it cool to watch it under boost

Gauge necessity:
1. Fuel Pressure Gauge
2. Wideband AFR Gauge
3. Boos/Vac

Boost/Vac is listed as last but "NOT" least important at all. Any gauge tha aids you in reading how your BOOSTED motor is doing is a benefit - they are cheap/inexpensive

I had aproblem and did not know it but by looking at my BOOST gauge I noticed I was not getting full BOOST - so I checked all my connections and low and behold a ripped coupler = Lost 2+ PSI of BOOST at that - fixed it and the power was back!

It serves its purpose evn on the Vacuum side - it aids you in seeing if the is a problem or even a HAZARD!

Thanks,Matt
