I have A&A kit Vortech kit with a 3.8 pulley. Upon start up there is some noise that seems to be from the supercharger. This is louder then normal supercharge noise. It goes away after a minute or two. It varies with engine speed, but I just cannot figure out what/where it is. Could it be belt slip? A idler pulley going bad? Do you have any recommendations on how to troubleshoot this?
Grinding?
Squeek, Hi Pitch, Low Pitch?
Chirping?
Marble Sound?
Rattleing?
Is your unit a self contained oil system? or does it use the engines oil to lubricate it?
I am suspecting low oil level is self contained or possible partial clogged oil supply line if supplied from engines oil. Perhaps there is an inline filter that needs to be replaced?
The unit is a vortech V3-si, self contained. I will check the oil level when I can. Stupid brass head on oil dipstick is stripped. Suspect it was installed too tightly on initial install. It's a squeek/chrip. High pitched. It will squeak, stop, squeak, at like half second intervals. I tried to record the sound, but it did not come out.

Get a tube of some sort and being "VERY" careful, get it near where you think the squeek is coming from. This will help to determine where it actually is coming from.
It can be an idler or it can be the actual V3 itself! You can also try a mechanics scope. The Mechanics Stethoscope will allow you to really hear the inside of the unit.
