Default Cam help please

I currently running a 402 supercharged D1 13 pounds of boost 225 AFR heads With a mild comp cam specs are 228-234-588-598 lobe at 115 the motor is making 765 rwhp and 700 rwtrq,.
Sense i have the motor apart for some cleaning i am thinking of changing the cam and bumping up the power a bit.
Howards Cams makes a supercharged street/strip cam the specs are 236-242-612-612 lobe at 115, has anybody used there products? pros and cons?
Any info/power level/Street manners with the cam specs weather its howard or other company will be greatly appriciated.

thanks ahead

I don't think you will see a great deal of change with the cam swap. Some not a lot. Turn up the boost if you want more power. What manifold and TB are you using? Headers? Massage the heads is another way to more power.

At 13 lbs on a D1SC with a 402, I would suspect you are almost at the limit for that blower. I suggest, if you have the money, to upgrade to an F1A or better and sell your D1. Good luck!

Heads are AFR225 have been massaged, manifold is LSX Fast 90 mm, TB ls2 90 mm ported, the headers are American racing 7/8,
devils own progressive alky system.
We will be turning up the boost to around 16, i am thinking maybe a bigger cam will help, any thoughts on this subject?

I saw that cam on there web page but it was on a 113 not a 115. I actually prefer the 113, the power will be darn near instant if you pulley the D1SC up. It will make gobs of torque. 800 rwhp should be no problem.

The cam you're looking at is pretty aggressive but not overly so. You're in the ballpark. Are you running 93 octane? You might get a little squeeze with that manifold and TB. Have you thought about the 102 intake and a ported LS7? Those heads are going to flow pretty good. Do you know if your blower can keep up?

If your AFR's came with the 8019's which is the .650 lift springs you should be fine. Call Tony and give him the serial number for your head and he can confirm which spring you have.

If the cam is on a 113 it's going to have a nice "muscle car lope", nothing too crazy-but it will sound nice-and make great power too.

My mistake it is on 113 lobe.
How would one compare the comp XER Cams same profile as the howards max effort cams?

It's way too hard to tell unless you can get all the specs of the cam. You may never know-Comp may have been the one to grind it in the first place.

Our stage 2 cam is pretty similar-it's the cam that made over 800rwhp in Costad66's 347 with a D1SC.

I've had comp cams in the vette a couple of times with decent results, on the other hand I've had howards cams in a 510 big block camaro a couple of times with much better results and the third time the 510 supercharged big block is also a howard cam, so i think i will stick to the much better results then okay results.
Thanks again Arun,Good talking to you, will let you know the outcome when they are both up and running, or screaming

This is what my builder spec'd out for me, has run it in a few blower cars. I was able to hear a very similar version in a Turbo'd 347 c.i. truck that he just finished up. Sounded very nice, great lope and he has had great success from it.. Time will tell once I get my build done.
