Default Engine Under boost

How long can and engine remain in boost without doing dammage. The reason for my asking is the last time my Vette club was out playing we were running around 100 MPH. I was getting close to going into boost since I installed my 3:42 rear end. Typically the engine only sees 4 to 5 seconds of boost at a time the way I drive just wondering if 2 to 3 psi will do any dammage.

I guess the point I am trying to make is boost occurs at around 2500 rpm. Running at 100 mph almost puts the engine under boost. Will prolonged periods of boost dammage the engine...simple question!
Thanks,
The Big Dog

Your not making any sense... Are your wastegates always open? Why wouldn't you never see "boost"?

Acutely you will do no damage assuming good gas and tune. Also assuming you're not overboosting the engine.

Let it eat!

You shouldn't be making any boost just driving...

You need to be under load for the boost to come on. Just steady state cruising will not do it untill you get higher into the rpm's and the speed of the impeller increases enough by sheer exhaust volume alone.

Do not do the cannonball run with it and you should be good. I have not had problems with 30 seconds or more with stock pistons while "cruising" with some friends down the highway.

You will be fine unless you go WOT and stay in it for like really some good time and blow out a head gasket.
