I have a 2002 Z06 in really great condition and only 33.5K miles. Only mods are a Corsa cat back.
Sadly- I am kinda bored with the car. So, I was thinking about having EG install a supercharger. I figure since with EG's tune I have 374 RWHP the super charger should give me maybe 525 to 550 RWHP. Does that sound about right?
I have pretty much babied the car and it has the orginal clutch. Will the original clutch hold up for the 5-7 K miles I might at most put on the vehicle per year? I do not drag race or do burn outs.
Any other thoughts about the pros and cons of supercharging? Seems like this is the least cost way to add real power.
I have a stock LS1 making HP in that range through stock exhaust manifolds so no problem for your LS6. As for your clutch, I'm on my stock clutch and it has held so far but I don't know how long it will go. Some on here have made alot of miles others haven't made it off the dyno. I'll run what I have till it goes then swap it out and put hardened output shafts in the diff while its appart.
Once you start down this road it doesn't seem to end but you will not believe the way your car runs when you pick it up!
The clutch can let go though! Depends on your driving habits I guess. I have a 15k old LS6 clutch in mine, it wouldn't even hold during the dyno tune. It was was letting go at 440 rwhp /tq.
I'm in the same situation...bone stock LS6 with 26,000 miles. I'm thinking of going with the TTi X twin turbo kit. It will be about 175 to 200 hp over stock
I am going to go with the Mcleod RST. Install will happen in a couple of weeks when I go out of town. I found it at a good price, and it will hold 800tq and feel like stock.
