I bought the pro form valve spring compressor tool and it does not work with the stock heads on my 98 LS1??? They advertise that it works with all LS based engines but the rocker arm cradles are rounded and the tool is flat. Any one know what tool works with my heads or if I am just not using it right? Thanks

Don't know about the spring tool you got. I recently changed the valve springs on my LS6 using the Crane Type Dual Spring tool - it worked like a charm.
Ugh - just re-read your post, at least with the Crane tool, you have to remove all the rocker arms first then remove the aluminum cradle thingy before applying the tool.

I just figured it out, I did not remove all the rocker arms to get the rail off with the rounded cradles off. I thought that it was a castes part of the head. Thanks now I can go change my springs.
