Default Do gates belts stretch a lot?

I just replaced my Dayco belt with a Gates green HD and it seems like it really stretched instantly! I compared it to my old one prior to install and it was slightly shorter, but after installing it and tightening it all the way I feel the belt needs to be tighter.
Both belts are the same size, I just found that strange.

I've found they do stretch a bit. Just tigthen it up and it should be good to go from here on out.

That's funny, because Gates HD belts are supposed to not stretch has much. I wonder how many people with FI setup run this belt?

I don't like the HD belts at all.

That's the problem, I can't tighten it up anymore the belt will touch together. This wasn't an issue with the Dayco, same size. Ideally I need a belt slightly shorter (half inch), but the next smaller size is 1".

I didn't like my Gate HD Green Belt, I think it is too stiff and stretched differently - I went back to the standard Gates belt for the Vette and it seems better off -

All belts do stretch but the tensioner should take up the stretch -

Thanks,Matt

I've noticed the HD belts stretch too. Not sure if they stretch more or less than the standard belt.

Go with the belt that is an 1" shorter and add a smaller pullley for the perfect fit and more boost
