Default Made the FI plung!!!

After over a year of following the forum and listening to everyone's advise. I drove the car 900 miles to TPS to have Mikes shop install the A&A kit. It is a 98 with 95K miles. This link has the info:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-p...-new-post.html

The car is stock except for an exhaust. My question now is with headers and an intake being so expensive for a small gain. Why not wait untill the engine needs to be redone and replace with a forged stroker or bigger engine and run more boost, rather then spend so much money on headers and an intake. Obviously, you need to let the engine breath and the intake and headers will limit this, but I hear about people running 700RWHP with stock LS1 intake and exhaust.

Don't bother with an intake for FI.... However headers let it breathe and will make it more efficient you ll make more power on less boost (at least that's my understanding) someone else will chime in

Congrats and enjoy that new power and the power addiction you will now have

I usually recommend headers because the stock cats like to melt with the blower.

So I have an A&A setup on my 04 LS1 through stock exhaust, just a catback swap for sound. I can't see doing an intake unless your looking for every last HP but I will change out the Headers this winter. Ya may want to consider swapping out the valve springs while they are doing the install with those miles.

I guess you could make 700rwhp through stock exhaust if ya wanted to run the boost and meth to do it, wouldn't be the most efficient way to go though. This winter I'll do a clutch swap and harden up the rear diff, figure just do headers while I'm at it. Header swap while doing the SC system install would be easy though since everything is out of the way.

Congrats on the new setup, your gonna love it!

My continually reading up on everything C5 in this forum, I've come to a conclusion , that the way to go with a c5 is FI. With this thread I have made up my mind . As soon as the 498 sells I will also take the plunge. Enjoy your newly acquired fix!

As a recent convert myself, all I can say is there is no going back! After being a bit underwhelmed at the performance of a rented 505hp Viper , I knew that a supercharge Vette was the answer!

If you were going to add headers would you go with or without cats?

Thank you,

Thank you,
If emission test required than go with Hi flow Cats or else catless and remove rear O2 sensor and let your tuner disable those O2 sensor, my preference would be AR headers or XSpower header system (which is copy of AR headers but lot less money).

Hey a couple last things. Are we talking about any damage if the cats melt or is this something I should just do at some point. Also, do you make better power without the cats. I really appreciate all your help.

Thank you,

Mark G.
