They really work. I am good friends with the owner of Sound Performance. The spool valve is for divided housing turbos. Are your turbos divided? Honestly, considering your are pushing pretty small turbos with a V8, they should spool very quickly as-is. The spool valves would help a bit, but they are really most beneficial on large turbo applications or small engine displacement applications, wherever turbo lag may be an issue.
SP has several videos available online that show before and after testing of the spool valves. They really do decrease spool time and increase horsepower and torque at much lower rpms than without them.
