through a belt the other day due to my factory water pump pulley staring to walk off the post. Its about a 1/4 inch off !
Anyone else have this issue before? I spoke with Brett this morning and I think I may go the electric pump route. Any other options that anyone can think of?
I replaced my stock water pump as a maintenance item when I replaced the engine @ 30K mi. I put on a Bosch water pump, the front bell walked off on the 2nd dyno run. I replaced it with the one had taken off, it is still operating fine.

I tig weld the end where the hub and pulley meet, other than that I use the Edelbrock or the Evans water pumps with the bolt on pulleys.
Arun....is there any modification needed to the

to make it fit ? Can we use the same thermostat housing?
Also...is the Edlbrock pulley the same diameter as stock?

I didn't want to post this same issue your having. This just happen to me last week WTF i though i was the only one that had this bad luck. I went thourgh two belts intill i noticed only haft the belt was touching the water pump pulley. I tried to pound it back on with no luck so off it came and installed new one but this time i did what Arun did welded that f$%ker on so hopefully it won't happen again.

Hey bud
If something can happen ...it will to me. I just ordered a new high flow edelbrock pump with a bolt on pulley.
I am worried about running an electric unit on the street.

You will be fine now. I welded my pump that walked on me to see if i could knock the pulley off and there is no way that's coming off now. I beat the sh@t out of it to try and get it off with no luck so the new one i have on there now i welded much better.:fla g:
I have seen along with Arun....lol. Yep it walked out pretty good more than 1/4". As Arun said already he tig welded 4 spots and iam sure it aint walking anymore.
