First off, I have searched for the better parts of 6 hours and followed every little tip, trick schematic etc and still can't get this damn car to hit the starter.
Just got the engine back in and buttoned up ready to start priming it for the first fire up.
All grounds are as they should be, have tested bcm yadda yadda. Starter wires are all hooked up. I can turn the key and nothing. You can hear the relay in the passenger footwell click, but it does NOTHING.
Here's what its doing. Go get in your car (man. trans) Put it in neutral and DO NOT press in the clutch. You turn the key to the run position and you get nothing. Repeat the same sequence and push the clutch in like you are supposed to, you get the same result.
This car had zero starting issues before I pulled the engine. Now its dead in the water.

Is the battery good...also your in line fuse its not blow some how is it..
Driver's head ground. Check
Ground strap from frame to block. Check
Battery. Check
Grounds on pass side of engine. Check (move to head actually b/c I was worried about the paint on the block screwing things up)
Wires on starter hooked up. Check
All fuses in starting system. Check
I am going to check the wire on top of the starter with a volt meter to verify that clutch switch is working correctly.
Also, I may have found the issue. Last night I was reinstalling the wires back onto the starter and checking the nuts on the post when the negative side post broke while trying to tighten it up. I did notice that post had some play in it when I was putting the starter in last week. I'm hoping and thinking that was/is the problem. Picking up a new starter today, I'll pull the header loose and hope this fixes the issue. Thanks for the reply guys and I'll post back after the new starter is in. Wish me luck.
That lug is a common problem. It's just held in by the plastic of the solenoid and after being heat cycled it gets brittle. It's not a negative though as the starer just grounds to the block. Could be the problem.

Gremlins...
After more reading, that's what I've seen also. Like I mentioned, it was in fact loose when I was installing it before hand, so hopefully it fixes it. All wiring is as it should be.
I ****ing hate messing around with those starter wires. They gave me hell on my build as well. Next time that is all apart I am making new wires with slack and routing them differently.

Me too. Especially with 2" LT's. I am def redoing all of mine once I have the time.
Installed a new starter and while I was in there, I extended the wiring for it and man that made life a lot easier to get it hooked up. While the new starter did not fix the issue, I did some more trouble shooting. I went back over the starter fuse and ignition fuses in the pass foot well. The starter fuse(60 amp maxi) did not look blown, after close inspection I noticed that it had a "bow" in it. I replaced it, hit the key and magic happened!!! Thanks CamminC5 for mentioning that!!!
So the rush is on tonight to get the new fuel tank in, replace the spindle and get the pass header back on and get it loaded on the trailer.
