Could a non-adjusted bov keep my car from not running right. ? I had the tuner put a base tune on my PCM for my new 408 d1sc build but now it will not idel for long and when I give it has it dies.
The reason I think the vortech mondo bov may be the culprit is bc , when the bov was off the car, I installed a hose onto to bov nipple and sucked on it with my mouth to see how much vacuum it woul take to open it. It surprisingly took a good bit of sucking lol to get the bov to start opening. It just doesn't seem like the motor creates enough vacuum to open my bov.
Just brain storming and figured ou guys could shed some light on the subject.
Thoughs????
you can adjust that with the screw on top. I don't remember if screwing it in lowers or raises the amount of vac needed. Did you buy it new? Usually they do not have to be adjusted.

yes, i bought it new and a&a said that it should be preset from the factory. but if the "factory presets" worked for every set up, then why make them adjustable at all.
i might remove my "plastic panel"( bov is infront of pass side wheel well) when i get home and crank the car up and see if any air is coming out of the bov. If not i will adjust it and see what happens
Doesn't matter if it's getting pulled open or not, you are having an issue somewhere else. I still suspect your tuner. Still thinks it's injector data or airflow tables.
What injectors, throttle body/intake manifold are you using? He knows you have a 408 with a cam right?
Millan, I'm using deka 80 lbs injectors, ls3 intake, And ls2 tb. I gave him all the motor specs. Just got off the phone with the tuner and he is going to come out withing the next couple days and scan it. I think your right tho.
The BOV doesn't have to be open for the car to idle. Turbo cars never have BOVs open when idling. Unless the vacuum hose is off of the BOV and is open to atmosphere..(vacuum leak). Sounds like you have a massive vacuum leak somewhere or your tune is jacked.

I sounds like in the VE table.on low rpm settings you are lucky it is not killing the motor and getting code of low engine power and having to reset it.Robert
