I think the C7 base is more exciting than the C6 base was when it was released, however, like most who have posted, the rear is terrible. It just doesnt go with the rest of the car. Looks like they took some cues from specter werks design below. The rear just doesnt flow. I also am in too deep in my C5 to think about any other purchases for a long time.
The C7 design looks awesome. It does bear a lot of similarity with the Ferrari 599. I understand the issues with the rear fascia. It looks like a stretched, flattened camaro back end. However, the real surprise is that they are using the first rectangular tail lights in the history of corvette. I couldn't believe the panel gaps they had in the release car, though. Need to step up QC.
It looks more like too many "other" cars, not a Corvette.

Agreed...... If they had used the typical round/oval "corvette style" tail lights, it might have had a chance to grow on me. At least it would have a small connection to it's heritage
I'm definitely keeping my C5, but if I ever want to add another Vette to the stable, it will be a C6......
I know I've already said it, but after all these years I can't believe how much it looks like the Aston Martin. Look at the pics. I've always loved the looks of the DB9 Vanquish though.
The 2013 Vanquish that began way back in 2004
The 2014 Vette 10 years later
The Ferarri 599
