so no problems on a C5?

I have yet to have any high HP car hold during WOT prior to going 6 rib to 6 rib, but Arun says he has so... this was/is the issue I always had with this design, but of course it's drastically better for the SC.

Personally I would like to see the DD/flip/secondary drive guys logging RPM vs. voltage to prove to me the 4 rib isn't slipping.

The idea is great but having both my pumps wired to the alternator its not very reassuring to have the belt slip there

I have not detected any slippage with mine. I can see voltage in the HPT tables of a scan, and I see 13.3-13.4v at 6800 rpms... I've never heard my belt squeal with or without the AC on... This is just on a 4 rib and DP direct drive..

Here is 7100 rpms in high gear, voltage is 13.2 according to hpt..

looks like one more thing to add to he setup. rather nip it in the bud then to have issues later.

^^^ thats what I mean, some guys say they have held the belt, I never have yet. It's very clear in the logs on everycar. Voltage drops like a rock to 11-11.3 as soon as the throttle fully opened. C5/C6 doesn't matter, and the belts were adjusted properly.
As soon as the pass was over, right back to 13.x, you would never even know it if it wasn't being logged.

Doug... I may have been lying to you...

I just went through 3 or 4 of my old logs, and on a couple of them, I did see the volts drop to 12.4-12.5v at 5000-6800 rpms... So I guess I get some slip SOMETIMES... The log I posted above was the last full highway blast I did so... Its not like the belt stretched or wore out of something...because it didnt slip that time. Maybe its a heat thing on the belt or something as well...

Guess thats something else I'll have to buy in the future as well...LOL

I just need someone to say "I want one for a C5" and be patient enough to wait some because it's our busiest time of the year now.

I dont know yet because I have to make it first...

The C6 set up is $950 with all the idlers-belt and new AC compressor so it would be close, problem is I would need your balancer and jack shaft idler to machine the extra ribs into them.
Thats honestly why we do not promote this much because there's a lot of back and forth down time involved if the car is already together. If we are sending out a complete set up then it's no problem.

I install the 4040477 gaterback 4 rib belt and a new tensioner for the 4 rib and the results?? No belt slippage with AC on but when I go into boost the AC will be off. Thanks to everyone for the input.
