Is there a such thing as a plug and play valve cover set that is ventilated enough for a ysi blower setup that can also have the coils mounted on a bracket or to the covers. Trying to keep it simple but attractive.
Thanks for all the good information I am starting to learn just have a lot to learn. All of the above setups look good.
Holley valve covers with the Metco Motorsports breather. Affordable, attractive, and practical.
I don't think we're talking about the same ones. I'm referring to the off brand China covers that look like this:
The Moroso covers look exactly like that and I have zero issues. Yes I had to grind a little out of the corner to clear the alternator but I had to do the same to my C5R covers I just sold. I also have an old PP polished intake on the car that everyone said wouldn't fit.

They look similar, but the Moroso covers go for over $500. I'm talking about the $100 ebay covers. We are not talking about the same thing.
Interested too - I like the holleys to but only for LS3's I understand(?)
Also, to the OP, what fuel rails you guys using to replace the stockers?
Anybody just powdercoat the rails and valve covers?
Not sure on rails maybe the fast rails and I am getting away from the stock stuff no sense in keeping the stock rails when I am building a complete engine. The stock valve covers just arent attractive so they have to go to.
Paid $148.00 for mine. Look, I am not trying to argue with you. Just relaying my experience.
I understand, just trying to clarify that the Moroso valve covers that you got a good deal on are not the same as the generic ebay covers. It is possible to differentiate the Moroso vs. ebay covers by checking the weld patterns. The ebay ones work for some, but their failure/dissatisfaction rate I would guess is over 50% after reading all the reviews on them.
I ordered a set of Holley valve covers with the natural finish. I ll have bungs welded in then have them painted torch red.
sounds like a plan. I like the katech look, but not the price, and I need mine modified for the big puke tank breather tubes.
like to see some pics. I like how the holley covers mount the coils, and I think a small little adapter strap made out of alum will allow me to use both bolts with the older LS6 coils (don't want to pay for new coils, too pricey)
also, what't the best way to refinish the intake manifold. I used the bull dog adhesion primer and spray bombed mine. looks good, but I want the more "polished and smooth" look of the katech intake.
don't want to pay them 700 to do it though! is it just sanding down the plastic manifold to get smoother? lts got so many curves and pockets it looks kinda tough to get it smooth. or do they use a bunch of primer on it?? guess that's why they get 700
Ron, not sure if ya saw mine in Carlisle (the C5 in the ECS tent). Below is a pic we took there
After heat soaking my previous coil packs by using a valve cover that enclosed the coils, I changed over to ones that put covers overtop the coils... These are from Noonan Race Engineering (NRE): http://www.noonanraceengineering.com...bcategoryID=21

the NRE stuff looks fantastic and I snapped a whole bunch of pics of your car. looks really good. I like that they will mount up the LS6 coils just fine and those covers are very sexy indeed.
nice ride! and way fast too just like it needs to be.
I took the plunge and bought the haltech ecm and some goodies to go with. love to get the egt setup too but I need to save up a bit more for that. hopefully I can get all this stuff installed this fall after croozin season ends
