Running 275 Hoosiers on 17" rims. I was hoping for high 6s in the 110mph range but I need a lot more practice getting it to hook off the line and switching gears faster.
I was hot lapping and the clutch stuck to the floor against this M6. He turned the flashers on once he went around.
I had my tuner give me a safe tune. But I think I'm going to increase the timing a bit. I had the meth at 7 on the last pass which caused it to run fat, mid 10s. I may back it down to 2 and see what it does with 16* of timing. But I'll have a passenger with me to let me know if I get more than 2* of knock to get out of it.
Best pass was 7.2x @ 101mph w/1.7x sixty launching around 4k slipping the clutch, 2500ft DA. I couldn't for the life of me do a burnout. I had it in second and brought the rpms to over 4k and dumped the clutch while holding the brake enough so the car wouldn't move. But I get a bit excited and would end up putting to much brake pressure causing it to bog down.

Let me say I will never be a pro or decent like some are here. I'm trying to watch everything and I go mostly by sound unless I happen to look at the tach. A few times I did shift a bit early and the car bogged down. I have my laptop on logging and I'm trying to see if I'm getting any knock. It was tuned by a good tuner but I don't want it to go boom.
I was never able to do a proper burnout to heat the tires up. I might invest in a linelock. Next time out I'm going to get a passenger to watch it and let me know if I need to get out of it so I can focus on the shifting at 6500.
I'm really hoping I can atleast cut a 1.6x sixty and that upping the timing from 12.5 to something around 15 wakes it up and I can get it into the high 6s.

A line lock makes it easiest to do a burn out, I never recommend using the e-brake. I'd practice doing a rolling burnout if you don't feel comfortable switching your left foot braking. You might even try 1st gear if having troubles as you don't need as much rpm to get the tires to spin. Hope this helps, good luck next time!
Not bad for the first trip out. About the equivalent to an 11.30 1/4. I ran about the identical ET/MPH with my stock LS6/D1sc (622rwhp) on my first two trips out.
Just becareful not to let it wheel hop AT ALL.... It WILL break..
Your car will run 10.50-10.60s@135 in good air with some practice and clean passes... You'll need 1.60 60's to get you there.
I'll hit you up when we go to RPR in Nov/Dec...
Oh and just stick with 1st gear burn outs....They will get plenty of heat.. and easier on your clutch/drivetrain.
My father wants to go at that time too in his Impala. I'm hoping we can take it to Patrick G. before then and fix the rape job Gfarce did on the tune.
I may only get one pass there though as I have no cage. But I'll be going back to HMP a few times before then so hopefully I'll be able to work on my launching technique.
I've ran those tires and cut a 1.57, really depends on track prep and psi you're running. A first gear burnout won't put as much heat into them nor as quickly as a 2nd gear one, but I'd recommending spinning them till they start to smoke.
They work the best around 17 psi hot. Sounded like you were still spinning pretty bad on most passes... If it had hooked, it probably would have broke....Especially if it wheel hops at all..
I agree with both Chris and Alan. Exactly what I would do and what I shared with you on tech. Ben(turbogeist) is also a guy to gain a lot of knowledge on local tracks and launching with McLeod's.
