Default S/C sound which one?

Which gives you more of a super charged whining noise a centerfuge style or a twin screw? and which is more reliable for daily driving?

Thinking about doing one of these upgrades instead of a head/cam kit.

Thanks

Noise? At 3000 RPM my car sounds like an angry swarm of bee's. I have a V3. The V1 is loud also. Don't worry about noise. My blow off valve is loud enough to scare people many lanes over. A&A Supercharger. Do it right.

Here's my car racing.

The twin screw will be the loudest...by far.

My V3Si wasn't that loud...you could hear a bit of a whine but, the Tial BOV, like Mattie said, will be what you hear more.

My YSI is definitely louder, but, it's probably too rowdy for what you are needing. It's still no where near as loud as a twin screw. Go to youtube and listen to an 03-04 Cobra at WOT. It will give you a good idea.

Here is a video of my car when it was 520 to the wheels, so it had a stock LS6, headers and a magnuson TVS 2300. The "whine" you hear in the vid is from the "cog drive" that I put on it. The cogged pullies and belt replace the serpentine pullies and belt, at the back of the blower on the jackshaft. Otherwise , these blowers are fairly quiet, unlike the older 112`s. Prochargers are pretty loud also.

Twin screw will definitely be louder....

I'm kind of partial to a turbo whine... A guy the other day asked me if I had a jet engine in my car

Nice videos Num nums and larry both, it'll be a toss up between the A&A and a magnuson twin screw for sure. I love the way the magnuson looks setting on top of the engine but the A&A kits are about $2k cheaper and with that black finish they can look like a factory option on the car.

For those guys that have done the upgrades did you have the shop do the dyno tune on it or have a tune uploaded as part of the kit and install it all yourselves? I would be installing it all myself is why I ask.

I'm a big procharger fan. From what I've been reading a p1sc-1 procharger is one of the loudest units out of the centrifugal supercharger's. Self contained also so you don't have to drill any holes in your engine. A noisy twin screw is hard to beat if you're going for sound though. Those blowers make me  I did hear a procharger the other day though that made me  also. You need to listen to both in person to make your decision I think. I didn't want to do a twin screw because I don't need that much torque. I already have spin issues I'd rather have power come in with rpm

You will get more out of it with a custom tune , and if you add other mods at same time it`s mandatory.

Fahd a p1sc and thought that was loud until I installed a f1d. I cannot work on my car under the hood with the engine idling. It's so frikken loud. I do like the Maggie whine much better on throttle and ohh the sound of a turbo is where it's at.

to me, that sounds more like a cammed car that whooshes rather than any kind of whine

just for terminology, a Magnuson is really a roots blower because it compresses the air inside the manifold. a twin screw (like a Whipple or Kenne Bell) compresses the air in the upper case.

you'll definitely want a custom tune (dyno or street are both fine) to get the most out of your car, and you'll want to use somebody who really knows what they're doing.

as for sounds go, just google Whipple corvette (they'll all be C6s except one yellow C5z that's an inside camera), but you'll really hear the whine. the TVS is actually pretty quiet in stock form, but if you upgrade to the cogged rear, it'll make a bit of noise like Larry's old setup.

I can't imagine wanting more whining noise. But then, I'm married.

Stealth FRC is that a stock cam in your car? It doesn't sound like it. Sounds great though!

Never mind I just found a video of it driving down the street, sounds like a turbine engine sucking up air as its driving towards the camera. Very nice sir!

pretty long, but it's hard to find a decent driving video of somebody with a cogged TVS.
this one is strictly cruising around town to give you an idea of what every day is like with cogs. cant wait to swap my rear pulleys over
