How many of you guys have DFCO on? I ask that cause my tuner said he doesn't like to have it on for safety reasons. I would like to hear reasons for having it off and on. How can it affect MPG? Once the weather clears and I get car out I will have to track MPG to see what I am getting. The thousand miles I put on before winter appeared to be lower and no I'm not driving any different. A&A kit with 10# boost.
Thanks!
Chris
Most (from what I've done/seen) turn it off only during the tuning as it simplifies the fuel tuning by taking out another variable. I left it turned off on my C6.
A motor that does alot of towing (requiring engine braking), or a car tuned for power and maximum economy I have it on. Otherwise I leave it off and adjust timing/fuel accordingly for slight engine braking.
It cuts fuel when you coast but enough to keep the motor running. Obviously with a manual transmission you lift when you shift going WOT unless you're a badass and not worried about breaking parts. If you have hptuners you can watch it by either injector pulse or by just looking at your WB. You can do a log on a WOT to see if you're lean anytime you get back into it from switching gears.

I logged it cause my wideband either shows rich (11 - 12) or cycles every 1.5 sec (12 - 17). Usually it is cycling but when I logged it or asked tuner to log, it knows and won't duplicate. Stupid car! It's an auto and I do a lot of coasting. I can't remember the setting now but it was temp on? and set to 285. Therefore it doesn't come on. I really wanted to get a feel for how many out there have it on. I have read a bunch on the different forums but have not nailed down the cycling part when coasting. It's not the gauge cause when it goes rich I can feel more drag and hear it gurgle more on the exhaust. I didn't put the supercharger on there for better MPG but didn't figure I should lose much if any when driving normal.
Thanks!
