Well I've pully'd down for more boost, but now I have so much noise at part throttle that's its irritating to drive.
I have a 50mm trial Q now, and was wondering if anything can be "added" to "muffle" it, or do I need to pick up something else?
I don't really want to run a recir and have to run plumbing everywhere, but I can't handle this part throttle noise.

I was trying to figure out how to do something like that, but not sure what to use and how much it would affect the noise AND it's performance

One reply said to change the spring to something in the 12 range, but I thought those were only for turbos, and I would be in partial boost without the bleed off

A&A uses Turbo smart or Vortech BPV.

Okay, but do they include a filter that goes around the bypass valve?

They do but I dont think it will work in the same fashion. From what I remember my Tial Q looks different than the one A&A uses with the side exit and filter.

The other 2 Tial BOV choioces may be quieter and even have a filter on it. If you wanted to sell yours and keep current size flange etc. I'm sure someone would buy it quickly

http://www.tialsport.com/index.php/tial-products/bovs

The one that comes with the new A&A kits is quiet for sure but with a bigger blower and more boost should sound pretty sweet.

I found a replacement bottom of a QR to swap the out the Q for about $50. I figure I can install a filter on it and MAYBE it will quiten it down.
Love the sound of it "popping off" but hate the part throttle "hissing"
Just don't want to reduce it's ability to do its job of reliving the pressure when the throttle is released..................

What spring do you currently have in your bov? You can use a stiffer spring to keep the bov closed more often to decrease the sound.

- 2psi..............pink spring
- 6psi..............black spring
- 8psi..............white spring
-10psi.............unpainted

could try a good old wrist/sweat band for jogging.. Just stretch it over the BOV.. worth a try and only a couple bucks and still should let the boost out without a problem.

Lol or you can get the "SPOON" covers like the honda's use

It has the 2psi, that was recommended by several blower vendors. Someone else mentioned changing the spring, but I wonder what the downside would be. One a closed valve keep sending me into boost, killing gas mileage?
It's cool to have a little noise, but with a high stalled auto, but when you are easing up a steep driveway, or something similar, it just sounds "broken"

Red Z; I like those sweat bands. I wondered what would slip over the BOV....

Filter quietened down my bypass, you could run pipe or tube down farther into engine bay. Might help?
Also I do have a question, does your BOV vent at idle & cruze speed/lite throttle? I've been told BOVs' aren't open at idle.

OK; THAT DIDN'T WORK!!!
I installed the sweat band over it and when I gave it some throttle, IT WOULD'T MOVE I don't know if it kept it from venting and it went rich or what, but I had backed off of the lift and I didn't think it was going to pull back on

M5
Yes, it vents at idle and anything below any point where you have more than 2-3lbs vac.
Mine is annoying to me at part throttle because I have a stall and it magnifies the problem, especially when I am pulling into a incline driveway
