Default Looking for some input....

Hey Guys,

First off, Happy Holidays to everyone!!

I'm getting close to painting my car again. I really do like the color, but am considering some minor changes...

1) Lose the Kompressor badges, maybe some tasteful custom ones.

2) Possible minor color/design change.

3) Possible rear spoiler change, looking for suggestions on this one.

4) Possible vented hood change, looking for suggestions as well.

Thanks in advance for your input, and anyone with good photo shop skills and a little time to donate to the cause, please step in!!

Thanks in advance to the inevitable joker that will step in as well...

Here's a few pics in the current form, the paint still looks pretty good from 12 ft, but needs some work once you get close...

Again, thank you very much in advance!!

OK, I guess I'll start the conversation...

How about trying to adapt a C7 rear spoiler to the C5???

All that is usually personal choices. I'm not a fan of two tone paint personally. The spoiler I would suggest a functional piece for your racing. I like your hood, it's different with the vents. A lighter color like silver or balloon white from the lambos would look killer with satin black powder coated wheels. Wide rear quarters?

Love your videos!!!!

Monochromatic paint schemes look the best in my opinion. The videos are always killer.

Yes on changes.
I would do an ACP air extractor hood.
Would do a custom rear spoiler, adjustable so you can make it aggressive for canyon, and less for your mile events.

I'll look into the ACP hood, and the C7 Z07 rear spoiler is adjustable, maybe I can adapt it with some minor modifications...

Thanks on the videos, and while I'm leaning toward a similar color, I'm also looking into the wider rear quarters. I do actually get pretty good traction with a bit of throttle modulation, with the 305s or even 315, then currently fit on the back...

Thanks for taking the time!!

I'm kind of partial to the car being the way it is. I understand wanting to change the appearance, but it obviously stands out to those of us that have seen your videos over the years. (I'm the one on Facebook always saying "no girls, no care".

Personally, it's not my cup of tea. But it's been around the block, and I'm sure is noticed in your racing community. I'd swap out that blower to a YSI for another 100hp, add a 75-100hp shot and maybe do some other tweaks, and come in as a sleeper for some racing events.

I hear you on not making any major changes, just looking to freshen things up a bit. I do have a 3" pulley vs the 3.2 I've been running, and maybe some wider rear fenders...

Always appreciate you input!

I had a 3M clear bra put on right after the last paint job, but the car has seen some usage, and she deserves a fresh coat at this point.

Sleeping hound in the back is hilarious!

Love that spoiler - if I could find a Specter Werkes rear for sale, I'd snap it up in a second. Always been my favorite - not a fan of the bolt-on or stuck-on spoilers.

It looks Great in person.

It isn't something I would pick, but I've seen a lot worse. I have the Caravaggio and would only run that or the Specter Werkes for looks. If you're going for function I'd ask that question in the RR/AX section.

I have an MCM hood and would recommend it based on looks. I haven't had the car much over 150MPH since I put it on, so not sure how functional it is. DRM used to make a good looking hood as well, but for either of the two I mentioned you'd have to keep an eye on the classifieds.

Do you want the car to just look different than it does now, or are you going for something out of the ordinary? Either way, good luck with it.

Thanks, I guess I'd lean a little more toward look then function, and I don't want something totally different then I have now, nor way off the norm. I'm just looking to change it up a bit, do something I REALLY like, that maybe just a bit more mainstream...

Those C6 style don't look good on a C5 IMO, they are not wide enough, and don't flow down into the side.
