Anyone know of a bracket that will relocate my stock alternator to the lower passenger side? Thanks!
I think ecs has a bracket that mounts the alternator where the ac. I used a mustang alternator and mounted where the ac. I would do the mustang alternator for your budget build.

ECS doesn't make them anymore. Got anymore info on the mustang bracket and what's needed for it? Will the stock alternator work with the bracket?

I used a mustang alternator and drilled the mounting holes bigger. That made it line up . When i get home i will take some pic and tell you what year alternator. I didn't have to use a bracket.
I used a 96-2001 ford ranger alternator. I had to drill the 2 mounting holes bigger so the bolts will line up the c5 factory ac tension bracket. All you need is alternator pigtail and wire it up. This was a better option for me then spending $300 for ecs bracket at that time.

Thanks I saw that one the other day, gonna see if it works.
Is that a bracket, or just bolted to the head?
It is a bracket for the Pro turbo kit cars. I had only one side of it....I had to make the "L" bracket myself. 1/4 inch steel, a hammer, and a drill is how I made the "L".
The belt is routed like the ac belt on the balancer and uses the ac tensioner. I think I had to put a spacer behind the 5 rib alternator pulley to get it lined up. I didn't write down the size of the belt but its the same width as the ac belt.

If so I'd appreciate it thanks man

Couple of pics of the AEI CNC bracket. Really nice piece and the owner is very helpful. This is mounted in my Fbody but I am using it to run the alternator on the corvette beltline off the 4 rib portion of the balancer.
Used this setup to run the C5 blower bracket in the car.

I'm running this on a 97 tt forward facing and it alms works great but I'm having an issue with the belt staying on so I'm trying to find a different pulley on the alternator to use
Making some progress today. Got a Ford Ranger alternator bolted up using the top 2 a/c mounts. It had some lower interference with the cradle, so hacked off some of the alternator case.
Added a big washer behind the pulley help to line it up. Ended up with about a 39" belt. Got a harness from the junkyard for $5, pulled it from an Explorer with a 4.0. Found some wiring diagrams online for Ford and GM, just need to match them up.
Going pretty well so far. Thanks to the forum, otherwise I would've never thought of doing this.
Very cool. Once you figure it out and make it easy for the rest of us, I think I'll end up doing it too. I never liked how the alternator sits high on the ds.
